I am looking for some ways of making a bit of extra money and thought about proof reading. I don't have any specific experience, but have good grammar and spelling and a good eye. I was wondering if anyone knows how I might get proof reading work at home? Do I need to, or is it recommended that I, take any courses first?

To proof read correctly, you also need to use the correct marks and terms in the margins and on the page. These are generic and will need to be learnt.

Apart from being proficient in grammar, you should be able to correct spelling mistakes, punctuation marks, etc. You should be conversant with various styles of presentation. You should know the page lay-out - where to place the figures, graphs, table, etc. You should also know to list out references. I suggest that you undergo a course in Technical Writing.

Since publishers are working on time-bound schedules, they may not give the work to people who want to do it at home. They may rather want more dedicated people.

As a follower of Jehovah, all of us comprehend that the demons are effective spirit creatures over which we haven't any actual administration. the flexibility to fasten one in a closet isn't some thing it is achieveable, as a demon is a effective spirit creature, no longer a stray doggy. all of us thinking that they can regulate the demons is heavily deluded. you have a extra effective danger of locking a tornado up on your rings field. Its unlikely to ensue. Sorry in case you're disillusioned!

To do it freelance you do really need to go on a course, I think the Open University do some.

what to do is contact the big publishers and write to them and they will send you out an example and you will read it and send back a proof read copy and they will evaluate your work
