And how is the war in Afghanistan going? I'd surely like to know that the events of 5 years ago, and all of the money spent, resulted in a victory, and a capture. How about you? Please, stick to the question, and no rhetoric on how we got there to begin with. I prefer to look forward...

I have to admit that this question bothers me. I remember all the hype about "almost getting him" before the Iraq invasion. I think he may be hiding somewhere in or near Pakistan. Musharraf may be an ally but he and his government are about it. UBL seems to have the heart of the people there.

It looks like Afghanistan is still going pretty well. There has been a recent upswing in incidents but it has remained fairly calm overall. My cousin just returned from there a couple of months ago and he has told the family that the people seem to like the American military and he felt safe all but a few moments there. The insurgents seem to be expending most of their energy and anger on Iraq.

No idea what the future will bring. Muslims in general only respect power and we are showing an unwillingness to use power which means they will grow bolder in attacking the troops until we change our attitude.

It is hard to find a multimillionare who has all sorts of resources. He is probably hiding in the mountains of Afghanistan. Thousands of miles of mountain ranges, thousands of caves. Or in the ocean in a big ship traveling to an uninhabited island in the middle of the Pacific. He will eventually make a mistake, and a satellite photograph will reveal something suspicious, or a close aide will sell him out for the ransom. I hope he didn't walk into a bullet or a bomb yet, he needs to be put on trial.

Are you suggesting the money spent in Afghanistan would be spent on more noble cause if it were not being used for war? I doubt it. unfortunately things don't always come to a quick and tidy end. In this case it appears to me we are just going to have to make life miserable for him and his followers until someone decides they've had enough and give him up. Maybe the evil Republicans have him locked up somewhere and are waiting for the 2008 elections!

Osama bin Laden is hiding in a cave in Northern Pakistan
which is in tribal regions, with the rest of the Islamo-Fascist terrorists and we will get him. What we are waiting for is to make doubly sure that we get all of the SOBs at one time.

We have got Bin Laden he is hiding in Afghanistan and we can't find him. Maybe someday after we release the focus on Iraq we can concentrate on Bin Laden.
