So we were talking about freud in high school. And i think he might be right about the oedipus complex? Boys do often seem to defend their moms a lot more when insulted, atleast more than when their fathers get insulted. And daughters don't seem to care or get mad over momma cracks as guys do. Also there are a lot of MILF porn out there. Kinda disturbs me, could freud be right?

Dear old Oedipus, which means something like "twisted foot" was left in a field to die by his parents because of his physical problem. He was saved by a shepherd, raised, and when he got to Athens, he had no idea of who his parents were when he killed his father and had sex with his mother. So there is nothing to Freud's idea there. Freud may have loved his mother and wanted to have sex with her, but that is Freud's complex, not that of Oedipus.
Now if Oedipus had known, that would have been another question. Freud is wrong about naming the complex what he named it.
Psychological problems are often called something stupid, like the Oedipus Complex. Too bad they don't spend any time on studying the Jocosta complex, that of a mother having sex with her son. (Oedipus' mother was named Jocosta.)

If you think that Freud was right than I feel for you. If someone insulted my mother, and I'm a woman, I would be ready to defend her to the end. If someon insulted my father I would probably defend him, but perhaps agree if they are right. It depends on the person. I would do my own study and see. As for the porn--I see men as being more sexual than woman. This comes from the animal part--man can impregnate the same woman only once a year, but, as in the animal kingdom, the male can impregnate several woman in a week. Therefore, the population can grow immensely.

His work is not still speculated on today for nothing. I think he has a great point.
