We need to change our strategy in dealing with other nations or we face even greater dangers. We added a new federal bureaucracy to deal with terrorism and somehow we end up with 11 million illegals...when that agency was to prevent us from being infiltrated...it seems to me that someone isn't doing their job...certain if peons can enter, then terrorists can too...and drugs flow across the border...so why not bombs? I wouldn't worry about an overt attack against dams or power facilities but contaminated water supplies could cause far more damage before the attack was recognized and then we could spend five more years pointing the finger at different agencies, looking for an internal conspiracy and arguing over the site of a memorial. Many nations have justifiable reasons to fear the US and feel that their only defense is an offense and since they can't counter us with large armed forces resort to guerilla tactics. Perhaps it is time we began mending fences rather than acting as a world cop.

No, we are not safer, I do think that we are working toward that goal but with the present leadership it will take a long time as they really do not know how to make America safer. Repuglicans boast that there has been no attacks on U.S. soil in the five years since 9/11 and they are right, however there have been many attacks around the world which tells me terrorism is alive and well and it is only a matter of time before we are hit again.

The very next day I recieved a decision from my unit that we were being mobilized to energetic duty. So I spent the subsequent 2 years of my existence contained in the military and remote from homestead.

I believe that we are in just as much danger as ever before. All it takes is once and it's over for you, so we are no more or less safe than in 2001.
