We had been together maybe 6 months or so, we rented a cabin by the lake for 4 days... we spent those 4 days just talking and getting to know each other better. At the end of those 4 days we were standing out by the water and he looked at me and told me he loved me. The reason I knew he was serious? I could tell by the look in his eyes, he still gets that look when he says it (we have been married almost 7 yrs)

Well, he isn't my spouse but my boyfriend told me he loved me for the first time in the morning one day on his way out to go to work. I had stayed the night before but he and I had been dating for a good while and had known each other for almost a year prior. He was my bestfriend and still is.

The first time my husband told me he loved me we were taking a nap and I was half way asleep and I heard him whisper I love you, but I wasn't sure if he was awake or not so I didn't say anything. When he woke up I wondered if he really said it, but it wasn't said again until a couple months later. After we had been together for a while, I asked him if he remembered that day, and he said yes, he was awake but acted like he was asleep because I didn't respond.

We were sitting in a car in a parking lot, in February of 1993. We had kissed for the first time a couple of nights before, a "good night" kiss when I dropped him off, and I was having self-esteem issues worrying about what he thought of me, did he really like me, was I making a mistake, etc. (because I had just come to the realization that I was in love with him). So while we were in the car in the parking lot, I said something about how I was worried that I had disappointed him.
He looked at me with these gorgeous eyes and said, "You could never disappoint me. I'm in love with you."

My boyfriend and I were on the phone, and I actually told him I loved him first. And it took another month or 2 for him to actually tell me it back. I was serious, I dont know about him. I would hope.

My husband said it first here in our house. It took me another week to say it back, just because I was gun-shy from other relationships. We had talked on email and phone calls for about a month before. You could say we rushed into marriage, but a year and a half later we're friends, companions, inseparable. He is the sweetest, kindest, smartest man. I don't regret anything for a second.

My husband told me he loved me for the first time in Las Vegas. I knew he meant it by the way he looked at me and the tone in his voice. Did I mention he got the penthouse sweet at the Luxor?
