After "Home On The Range" I hope Disney never does another non-CGI animated film.

Disney is definitely experiencing a slump in their animated features, much like in the 80s. Then of course there was a boom in the 90s. I'm hoping to see a turn around soon. While I have loved the CGI films, there is nothing like a Disney animated movie. Creative and artistic genius is amazing to witness and it's something that we haven't seen in a while. I'm sick of the straight to video sequels and lazy attempts at entertainment Disney has spewed out in the last few years. I'm ready to see that spark that makes Disney great. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Rapunzel will be out in 2008, did not hear much of it except of looking at the promo poster when I got off the Studio and Animation show at Disney-MGM Studios a month ago. But It looked like it will be full classic color. But CGI is greatly used on any movie to show more detail I guess.

I really miss the old Disney, when animated pictures where magical, I grew up watching Pinocchio with his doll in my arms.
I don't think that they will ever make classics like that again, since Disney died it wasn't the same. Each day you see it going downhill.
Every time they give new release on DVD of the old ones, I build my hopes up thinking that the are doing that because they are going to make new ones.
Even the music was special.

CGI has reached its peak. Folks aren't flocking to the theaters to see CGI films anymore, unless they're great stories. Disney has been dissapointed with the performance of its recent CGI stuff, and has re-opened its traditinal animation department. John Lasseter, new head of Disney from Pixar, recently toured and said something like "If you don't know how to draw, you don't belong in this building".

If memory serves, Disney announced when "Home on the Range" came out that it would be the LAST traditional "pen and ink" animated film they would make; so the most likely answer would be "Never"....
