Yes, we really do have the power. One person at a time we can change the world. Reach out and show a kindness to a stranger. Then that stranger will feel better and he could reach out to someone. It's like a chain reaction. If we all did it, think of the power we will have.

First off, I belong to an Organization (American Co-Masonry) whose purpose is to change the world for the better. We ardently and sincerely believe that what each of us does influences others.
Give you an example of the negative case: suppose someone cuts you off on the freeway then flips you the bird. How do you react to that? A bit angry, a bit tense, like you have been attacked? How then do you deal with the rest of the day? Maybe a bit harsher, less likely to see the beauty around you, think about carrying a gun because the world is dangerous and filled with psychos? Might be extreme but you get the idea.
Harshness and kindness are passed along. The only part of the world YOU can change is yourself. But that change works wonders in small circles around you. Go rent and watch "It's a Wonderful Life." I know it is sappy but how much of it is true? A good part of it! We do not know the effect we have on others.
That Golden Rule is something we Co-Masons try to live by. We are our brother's keeper. So are you.
And it is normal to doubt that we are changing the world for the better. Very normal. But I have seen it happen. It is gradual but if you and I push one direction, I think we can do at least something.
Peace, from a Nam vet.

We do actually have the power to change the world for the better a bit at a time. Consider this, if everyone, just in the U.S. would do something good for a person, and that person pass along the good deed someone did for them to another, wouldn't the world change for the better? It cannot be done all at the same time, but little by little. Believe me it does make a difference to be nice, if nothing but just for one person everyday of your life.

We possess the power to do anything we truly want to do. It is just a question of breaking the programming that tells you all you want is cheeseburgers and Escalades. If one man can through pure will, commit some of the most contemptible acts of human history, a good person through pure will, could change things for the better.

Great question. I think we do. I help with the 6th-12-th graders at my Church, and I run a Bible-study every Friday night at different people's houses. We need to change people to change the world. You do it by one person at a time. Then they help somebody, and so. So, by one person caring for another, you can change the world.I want the world to be a better place because i was born, not I just took up space.

I agree with Johnson. In order for us to make a change for the better we have to have unity, and that’s one thing we don’t have as Americans until a “crisis” arises. Even then there was only unity among certain groups of people. It’s sad though but that’s the way the cookie crumbles….

We can do very little to change the world... Now changing the American-Black, voters.. Thats something we can all try to do!!! They think, that by voting for Republicans, no matter what their about, their doing a good "Deed" because Honest Abe Lincoln, was a Republican... And he "Freed" the slaves... So, no matter what the next guy is about, they will vote for him... If you want to make a difference in changing our world, go spread the word, that Honest Abe, would be so ashamed of how these Republicans today, run our country!!!! And tell every Black-American, this is not a "Good-Thing" thier doing by just voting Republican, because of DESEAST Honest Abe!!! These crooks in the "White House" aren't HONEST!!!! Think !!! Black-American's because another Bush might be running next term!!! And should Jebb, do that, we have their votes to blaim ,for what our country will be like should another Bush get in the White House!!! And I dont think too many other races will be too happy, that all the Black's votes are the reason our country's already Trillions in Debt!!! And voting for Jebb, should he run, will only do us "Under!!!" Completely!! We're already thee most HATED country, because of Bush!!! And he allowed a "Mass-Murderer" go "Free" because, of the oil, Bush & Cheney, are making millions off of, for personal pocket-change!!!! Think!!! Black-America!!!! READ!!! And then vote!!! You do know you are allowed to change your "Party" that means, you can change from being a Republican to a Democrat!!!! It is okay, to do this, and its really easy, too!!!! Tell everyone you know, who's Black and votes, because the next election's just around the corner!!!! And are we in TROUBLE, if Jebb, runs!!!!!

Of course we do! Think about what all 6500000000 of us could do if we all decided to make the world better rather than feeding our own greed. Then think of being able to do one 6500000000th of that. That's about what you can do if you start trying- in fact, you might be able to do more than that if you can convince other people to do the same thing when they otherwise wouldn't have done so.

Nope, we will never change the world for the better. Mankind is too filled with hate, stupidity, and self-importance. We will destroy the world before we even get close to making changes for the better. Walk outside, watch the news, we HATE each other. Blacks hate whites, whites hate black , muslims hate christians, blah, blah. Mankind is far too stupid to get along.
