For a variety of reasons, I can barely stand movies based on, or meant to tell of, actual events. Nearly any I have seen is because I didn't know it was based on anything that happened, and I kept watching it because I was curious to see the end. But it's very rare. Indeed, that does mean I shall never knowingly watch 9/11/01 movies. Are you the same way?

Try "United 93". Even though you know the ultimate outcome, you can still get further depth and background into the story.

I generally find movies based on real stories boring. But some are really touching, just because they have that added emotional element of knowing it was real, like North Country for example.

I refuse to watch 9/11 movies though. Thats not a film based on a true story, that's an exploitation of an international tragedy for commercialist incentives, that will probably just lead – through patriotic appeal - to increased hate and intolerance towards Muslims and other minority groups. Turning the event into an action flick and categorising those involved to either the ‘good guys’ or ‘bad guys’ seriously degrades the importance of what happened that day, and puts the wrong attitudes in people’s minds. How disgraceful.

I prefer fact based stories, they may be sensationalized, or have artistic liberties taken with the story, but I can feel a story better if I know it happen to a real person, thet those emotions on screen were actually felt by someone, happiness pain or anger, they seem more human.

no. I like to see the way things unfolded to get to that point and how it was resolved. However I won't watch any of the films to do with 9/11. I think we have pretty much seen and heard everything to do with that day, and their families need closure.

I'm just the opposite. I don't like documentaries but I do like movies that are based on true events. I can sit back and say, "there but for the grace of God go I."
