Dale's contract is over at the end of the season in '07. Should he part ways and find a different sponsor, like maybe Wrangler or Gillette? Or should he keep it? I know what's racing without the Bud car flyin by and what's buyin beer without his face smiling at ya? But as a Christian woman I don't buy anything of his that has a Budweiser logo on it, which to be quite honest isn't much. But not so much to not support Jr., it's my dislike of alcohol and drinking and driving. So what does the general population think? Jr need a change in sponsorship or not?

Whoa people in no way was this meant to be a derrogatory remark towards Dale Jr. I am just wondering what the general population of Yahoo! Answers thinks so please drop the attitudes. A simple yes or no would be better than you biting my head off.

In a perfect world - Yes - he should change sponsorship.
But, I have been a Bill Elliott fan for over 20 years. Most of that time he was sponsored by Coor's or Bud and I do not drink beer - period.

The sponsorship money has to come from somewhere so why not take from those who have & offer it. There are other ways of supporting your favorites and other sponsors on the car.
Do you drive a Chev or use Goodyear tires or drink Coke?

Certainly everybody is entitled to their opinion and as such we should all respect yours. With all due respect, however, I see no reason for Dale Jr. to lose the Budweiser sponsorship. Having Budweiser on the side of a race car is in no way promoting any of those things that you are stating in your question. Where does it say that you should go out and drink and drive because the Budweiser sponsorship is on the race car? Responsible adults can make their own decisions and they are going to make their choice whether a sponsor is on a race car or not.

If what you are saying is true, I guess that maybe Lowe's should quit sponsoring a race car because they carry products manufactured outside of the United States. While we are at it, throw Home Depot into the same category. Why don't we take Harrah's off of Robby Gordon's car because it involves gambling.

Arguments could be made for all sponsors. I am inclined to see that the sponsorships serve as benefits to NASCAR and should all be allowed to say. That includes Budweiser. Each adult can make their own choices from there.

Absolutely not. When I think of Budweiser I think of Jr. When I think #8 I think Jr & Budweiser. They are a team. Also after watching Saturday nights race Dale Jr. made the Chase then he promptley carried his cooler full of Budweiser on the stage and proceeded to drink a beer. I thought that was fantastic, he likes to celebrate just like I do, nice cold beer in hand. I can understand your opinion not liking beer and all but Jr & Budweiser go together.

As long as him and his sponsor are good with each other they need to keep on. They are both making alot of money and hurting nothing. The people that drink and drive really care nothing if bud is on his or his nieghbors car. I drink bud or some other busch product because i know what i am going to get. Just like when you pick up a cola. There is a good chance that dale would loose a little time in the spot light if he went with some other sponsor so i don't see them parting ways. As far as drinking, isn't the sin the abuse of alchol not the drinking one with diner?

Jr is a class act, who carries himself appropriately. There for I don't think there is a problem with his sponsor being Budweiser. I have lots of Dale Jr. and Budweiser gear, and I rarely drink. People have to make decisions for their selves. It is a shame people are always looking for something to blame their mistakes upon.

You pose a good question, but I think he should keep his sponsor. If he changes anything it should be DEI, for RCR.

Budweiser would be terminally stupid, IMHO, to sever their tie with one of the most well-known names in NASCAR racing.

UPS followed Dale Jarrett to his new team and new manufacturer. And even though hardly anyone knows what the hell "DuPont" does, the name recognition they get from being associated with Jeff Gordon means that they'd be dumb to change.

When it comes to brand loyalty, I think the stats for NASCAR fans is somewhere around 65-70% of fans will buy a specific brand because of the driver affiliation. So while you may be reluctant to buy Bud because of your religious beliefs, you are in the minority, and I wouldn't expect Budweiser to give up their spot as primary sponsor any time soon. I'd be VERY surprised if they did.

No he does NOT need another sponsor. He did very well this year, thank you very much. Just because people like you dont like it that Bud sponsors him doesnt make him a bad person or bad driver. What does Budweiser have to do with drinking and driving or for that matter what does JR. have to do with it? I too am against drunk driving, my daughter was hit by one, but I am not going to punish Budweiser for it!!

I whole heartedly apologize for how I said what I did.

well he brought a cooler of bud up on stage and even had a back up in case one cooler wasn't enough. i don't believe dale jr. will ever leave his daddy company until he is ready. and i don't think he is ready to do that. why leave a company where you have it made. am not one of his fans but have to say i was wrong about him making it into the chase. tony jr. had alot to do with that keeping jr.s head focus instead of him going crazy wondering if he made it. i think if dale jr. ever leaves the bud sponorship would go with him. i think dale jr. is to big for his own good so they would go with him. i don't think dale jr. would go out of his way to meet his fans either. am just one of those that would have rather had tony stewart make the chase than junor. i just don't like him. he thinks he is so good. but the fact will always be his name his daddys name that is why he has a fan base as big as he does. girls that want to be seen with him only because of who he is the money, fame and and so on. hate me if you must but the truth is the truth.

When I see a budweiser shirt with the number 8 on it. I never think of it as a beer shirt....I see it as a Nascar shirt. If you choose not to wear his shirts then that is your choice....but any racing fan...doesn't even see the logo only the number.
