I am 22 days from having a scheduled c-section, and have not felt my baby kick since Saturday afternoon. He has pushed on my stomach, but not enough movement for my liking. Is this normal? I have a doctors appointment on Thursday. This is my 3rd pregnancy, but this pregnancy is totally different from my other 2 and I honestly don't remember too much about being pregnant.

Also, I guess I should add that I have been sick for the past few days with a viral infection that has been going around. My doctor is aware of this and told me to take Sudafed and Robitussin. I have taken a couple doses, but do not feel comfortable taking meds while being pregnant.

I will aslo add that this is a big baby. Doctors say he'll be around 9-11 lbs at birth.

Sweetie, there is nothing wrong. It is simply like you said, you are 22 days from a c-section ( aka- due date) and you are carrying a large child. My first was an ounce and a half shy of 8 pounds and they say this one will be close to 8 adn a half pounds. As the baby gets bigger, that means there is less room in your body for it. As long as you feel the baby move then there should be nothing to worry about. Even if you don't necessarilly feel it move, which at this point I'm sure it would be difficult not to, as long as the doctor finds a heartbeat when he examines you, there should be nothing to worry about. Congratulations on baby #3!!!!!

Try drinking orange juice and laying on your left side. Orange juice always gets my baby kicking about an hour or two later. Also being so far along you wont feel the movements as strong as you used to cause the baby is so squished you will feel pushes most of the time. Poke around at your baby to see if they wake up and start pushing back. I remember that when I was sick with the stomach flu by baby moved around alot less. Do counts after you drink the orange juice and lay on your left side. Make sure there is at least 10 movements in four hours.

WOW that is a big baby! Well if your baby hasn't been moving very much ( and to your liking ) I would suggest you go to the doctor to make sure he is alright... so he doesn't have like the umbilical cord wraped around his neck osome thing (causing a lack of oxygen) I know babies don't move as much in the last month but they should still move... and you should be able to feel them move... when ever you have conserns you SHOULD always consult your doctor! Good luck, and hope everything is ok!

First, do your kick counts... see the link below.

If you don't get a good count, DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THURSDAY!!!

Call your OB now and tell them what's going on. They should either tell you to come in today or have you go in and be checked out at labor & delivery.

When I was pregnant with our daughter I didn't feel her moving for two days. I called the OB and was sent straight into labor & delivery to be monitored. Everything was fine (the baby actually kicked the nurse as she was putting the monitors on me!). So, everything could be fine and dandy, you just don't want to wait and take the chance.

Good luck and go do your counts!

No worries, mate. My children are completely different and each pregnancy was different. One kicked constantly. The other barely moved! Both healthy.

Use an iPod (or walkman) for the early stages of labor. Listening to my favorite music and Bible studies helped me to not worry.

Blessings and best wishes.

Being so close to the end of your pregnancy your baby has run out of room. There just isn't much space for it to move around. It's very normal for the movement to slow. As long as it is still moving that's good.

they say that after the 34-36 weeeks the movements do slow down only because the baby is bigger less room to kick... you say you do feel it then you are ok... The best way to test it and i remember this for sure is you should feel movement at least 1 hour after every meal... if you don't feel it at lunch and dinner.... go to the hospital....

Cognrats and good luck

If it's been 2 days with hardly any movement please don't put it off anymore. Call your Dr. asap. My Dr. stresses everytime I am there that if I feel a noticable lack of movement from the usual to call him right away. That is what they are there for! Better safe than sorry.

Maybe the baby ran out of room and is too cramped up in there to move much. ???
