to the few ml of ur mixture add barium chloride solution.....a white ppt indicates sulphate

you should add Ba (barium) ions to the solution.
If the solution turns into a white color, the presence of SO4^-2 is detected.

Add few drops of barium chloride so white PPt of barium sulphate forms if sulphate is present.

add BaCl2 a white ppt. insoluble in conc. HCl cofirms the test
