i have started swimmign recently. I started during day time without sun screen lotion. But then i switched evening around 6 pm when the sun isn't too hot. But the skin has become dark. Does chlorine affect skin colour? Any suggestions? Thanks.

I am a swimmer and chlorine does not affect skin color. The temperature of the sun doesn't effect whether or not you are getting darker its the UV rays coming from the sun which could still be coming through cloud cover and when the sun is setting and when its rainign if its light out at all and even some in the night there are UV rays and thats what makes people tan.

Swimming is a good way to get a tan if that's what you mean. The water seems to magnify the sun's effects. You should really wear a waterproof type of sun protection.

I reckon you should put sun block on as long as the moon ain't out. Then again it also depends on your skin eg how much melanin you have or somethin like that. Dark or brown colored people tend to tan easier and faster, white or fair skinned tend to just get all reddish and burnt.

Chlorine will make skin lighter, not darker. It is a bleaching agent. Hopefully wherever you are swimming doesn't have enough chlorine to bleach you. That might be painful.

Only the lack of sunscreen will make your skin darker, no matter what time of day it is..

No, water reflects sunlight so you are getting uv rays from the sun hitting you and again from it reflecting off the water and hitting you. Even if there is a cloud cover uv rays still make it through from the sun.

no, but wear sun block to block out the damaging rays of the sun. Sun is magnified by water. Be smart and protect your skin

No. Swimming makes you wet. The sun's UV rays makes you dark.

Sun rays are magnified by the water, causing your skin to darken faster than it would if you were just dry tanning.
