Exactly. Bush left Afghanistan prematurely. Americans are now hated there for their hasty withdrawal, the Taliban is re-gaining control, the war lords are in charge and opium poppies have become the most important product, Karzai is seen as weak and corrupt, the Taliban is making treaties with Pakistan, NATO has inadequate troops and the US turns a blind eye.
As to the war in Iraq based on lies -- Bush has created a mess of colossal proportions. The disaster that George W. Bush is responsible for creating by his premature and dishonest "preemptive" actions has spilled blood and treasure and has bulldozed personal freedoms at home. Abroad we are despised, and the middle east has been realigned in ways Bush never imagined and detrimental to US interests and balance of power. Not only was the invasion a mistake and a lie, the arrogance with with the mission was undertaken -- disregarding the best military advice by a commander in chief who had shirked military service himself -- created a disaster in Iraq for which no right solution can be found.
We have an utterly incompetent in charge asking the country to stay the course.

Yes you are right Bush was right to attack Afghanistan because it refused to hand over Bin Laden who perpectuated the destruction of the Twin Towers. Going after saddam Hussein was a terrible diversion. America is engaged in a war with Iran in Iraq; she just doesnt know it yet.

Yes, Bush messed up. Not because Saddam should still be enforcing his dictatorship over Iraq, because he shouldn't, but because the U.S.'s invasion of Iraq was unjustified and uncalled for, unless you accept blatant lies as valid justification. Bush had to change his arguments so many times to excuse his choices regarding military action that it's mind boggling to see that some people still trust him. All that talk about Saddam having WMDs and what did they find? Not a single one! I can't believe some people still cling to the belief that he had any and was willing to use them and all that crap! Bush messed up because he "striked to pre-empt" driven by nothing but greed, craving the Middle Eastern oil. Oh but he didn't? Sure! It shows! Saddam was a brutal dictator who often killed innocent Iraqi citizens, but the U.S. military went in there and did just the same with their so called "smart bombs". American and other soldiers died too, but they knew what they were getting into (if not then, at least when they joined the military, and if not, well, they should've known!), but the innocent Iraqi civilians who died, or worse - that lost people that were close and dear to them - didn't ask to get dragged into the conflict. How many innocent lives have been lost because of Bush's decision, which he had no right to make to begin with since it would not be an act of retaliation? Bush also messed up because he went against the U.N. with his choices and decided to act as the world's police and moral authority as if people of the world had chosen him to, and we sure as hell didn't. And now what? Democracy in Iraq? And we take whose word for it? We have to wait and see out it goes, but the lives that were lost and the families that were torn apart in this whole process paid a price that can't be compensated for. It's very sad that in the 21st century there're still so many innocent falling victims to greedy megalomaniacal warmongers.

I just don't understand the logic.
How can anyone as inept as he be responsible for anything?
How much power as the man got anyway?
Look at the times Clinton tried to change things when time and time again one of the Houses voted it out.
The only chance you have is through the vote box with plenty of invigilators and I don't mean using electronic or punch card counting.

I don't believe G.W. Bush messed up "big time" in Iraq. This was a situation that needed resolving and soon. Afghanistan was a problem because of its ties to Osama Bin Laden and that needed to be dealt with as well. Iraq was a powderkeg waiting to explode. Saddam HAD weapons of mass destruction, there's no denying the Kurds in Northern Iraq suffered immensely because of them. Whatever he did with those weapons is another story. I believed the Bush Administration when they said that the leadership in Iraq had to go, and soon. They weren't doing anybody favors in the Middle East. They were torturing their own people. The sons of Saddam Hussein were diabolical killers in their own rights, following in their father's footsteps. What Saddam did once, he WOULD do again. It was only a matter of time. So if they didn't "find" the weapons of mass destruction and supposedly there weren't any...there had been and they went somewhere. I'm convinced of that and no one will be able to change my mind about it--not war protesters, not the media, not anyone. I support my president and his administration.
I am proud to say that our military is sticking this out in Iraq. I support them 150%. I support their families for the sacrifices they are making as well. It's not easy being in the military, and it's not easy fighting a somewhat unpopular war. Without using our military might, however, and burying our heads in the sand, where will this lead us? We buried our heads for so long hoping something like 9/11 wouldn't happen, and it happened and we were suddenly at a loss. How could this happen? BECAUSE WE ALLOWED IT TO HAPPEN. WE ALLOWED THEM TO STRIKE US.
I'm as angry today about 9/11/2001 as I was five years ago. Iraq had to be taken on for its links to terrorist networks. Heck, they were their own terrorist network for crying out loud. They attacked their neighbor Kuwait in 1990/1991. They were at war with Iran for years. It's now not about fixing the past mistakes we made diplomatically, it's about making the world safe again, as safe as it ever will be. It's about helping the world's people (all of us, not just Americans) live in relative safety, without fear of government reprisals due to religion, nationality, political views, etc. Chemical weapons are just plain WRONG. Saddam Hussein didn't come clean about his involvement with them--he denied inspectors the right to search: FOR YEARS. I have 4 kids...when they deny something, it's usually true. Our very capable intelligence stated that the weapons were there. We learned hard lessons about mustard gas, etc., during World War I. Our promise then to one another was "Never again." It's happened AGAIN. The Iraqi people deserve freedom and representative government and as the only Superpower left on the planet, we have an obligation to help the others.
You don't have to agree with me, and it's all right if you don't. That's what makes our country so wonderful! We can express our political views without fear of reprisal. Maybe it's not the most popular war we've fought but at least we're doing something to prevent the next attack. I may be a lone voice crying in the wilderness but we're in this for the long haul. We didn't attack ourselves. Somehow the Iraq war has been muddied by all these protestations of an "unjust war." Unjust my a**. We had plenty of provocation and were slow to respond. We tried to do things diplomatically for years and it didn't work. We should have removed Hussein in 1991 but we figured we'd let him hang himself eventually. Finally we have a president who is willing to stick his neck out and do something and he's the bad guy.
I don't buy it.
