Hai the best way to prevent virus attack is to use a good updated anti virus software !
Out of these certain steps can be taken !
Use a good firewall software !
Prevent Start Up File Processing !
Don't Visit any Sex site !- Crack Site ! . Most of them contain spy-wares and Virus !
Don't Open attachment file with out scanning !

You can't control a virus - you prevent them with good antivirus software and by being careful. If one gets through anyway, you close all open program and scan your hard drive.
If you do not have antivirus protection like McAfee or Norton, you had better pull the plug until you get one.

Now, if u r computer is infected by viruses u cant do anything. It is better to format and boot with fresh operating system. Now install a antivirus software.
For faster and reliable antivirus software u better use "Avast 4.7..
professional addition" . Its very good.

Do you not have an anti-virus programme on your computer already?
Avast home Edition is also free and very good. Same procedure
Note: if you already have anti-virus you will have to disable or uninstal it first
