Try putting their beds side by side. That way they can look over at each other and not be so crowded. This worked pretty good for my twins. Good Luck!

Hello , Just to comment on your question ...
I have identical twin boys who are now 6 years old , Twins run right through my side and also me husbands side of the family now for 5 generations .. My twins were happy side by side in cots so as they can see and hear each other , but from time to time they still sneak into each other bed for a wee hug (which i find very cute ) I have asked Aunty's on both side of family and they said much the same too with them side by side , They did settle with no probs , All the best , TC

I can't believe they've managed to sleep in the same cot for so long without disturbing each other. My twins wouldn't settle in the same cot for longer than a couple of weeks. They slept in separate cots that were pushed together so that they could see and hear each other. You won't know if they'll settle in separate cots unless you try. All twins are close but it's important to remember they are individuals.

I'm a twin and i just asked my mum your question
She said when we where about 7mths she seperated us into two cots which were side by side and used a tip from another mum with twins to help us settle - she made sure she gave each of us a blanket we had both shared together, apparantly as a babies sense of smell is strongest no matter how many times you wash it they can still smell each other from it, which can help to comfort them that the other baby is close by.
Good luck

Your twins will settle. You're probably more anxious than they are. Just put the cots in an L shape (rather than side by side). This is what I did with my twin girls. That way they have their individual space and interact with each other at their own leisure.

try putting then in different beds if they don't like it get a rail made for a single bed and pt them in that it will solve Ur problem and give them more space . PS u can get the rail made the same height as a cot that go;s all the way round the bed

You have to make sure your twins grow up as independently as possibly. Put one in another cot now and they may not like it at first but hang in there and they will get used to it. They won't be able to go everywhere in life together so its best they know that from the start!

Leave the two cots (and later beds) in the same room, very close to each other ... They should be OK with that

Well i have a really close sister, shes 19 and im 17 now, we have been together our whole lives like literally and now shes going to uni so i think it will be hard for us to split up... but your twins may not be like us and stick together coz their personalities may be different... so i would jus say see how it goes coz u cant put a time limit on these things. but congradulations on having twins!!
