There is an urban legend that says you see for 30 seconds after your head is cut off. I'm not sure how true it is. They could test it in lab rats by placing sensors into the brain, decapitating the rat, and measuring the brain's activity after the head is cut off.
It is true, however, that your brain does maintain an electrical charge and some small electrical activity after you are clinically dead (heart stops, breathing stops, etc...). I guess this legend comes from a misinterpretation of this electrical charge.

It's probable.
Once you're deacpitated doesn't mean you wont see for a few seconds..
Being decapitated stops blood from the heart going to the brain, I think it'll cause too much pain to even worry about being able to see..
But if you're decapitated NOW, you're not instanly dead, there's always life for a few seconds, (still move your eyes around and stuff).
It's not what they know..it's logistics, scientists worked this out from pure logistics, like why does a light bulb light up, lol..
That's what I know, see if it helps you decapitate someone, they'll probably ask for a cup of tea.
Nitrogen.

As long as the oxygen in the blood is keeping the neural pathways functioning, then yes, it would be true. And the french were well aware of this when they invented the guillotine. But it is the same for hanging as well. There is no damage to the actual brain, so it would remain aware until it became oxygen starved.

I've seen decapitated heads blink!!! And hearts still beat once they are cut out! But in animals and fish, not people! although I reckon it would be exactly the same for people! I know that having your head cut off makes your legs and body jerk about! NICE!!!!!!!!!!!

does it matter, its nothing worht seeing and u probably interpreting it they way they would as a whole person. Ive herad that there is residual movement such as twitching maybe even blinking. but a decapitatee probably has other things on their mind!!

in order to actually get the answer you need you'd have to personally speak to someone who has just been decapitated. they are likely the only ones who really know the answer to that.
