if you want to catch... use glue traps.. they are a little cruel but they usually cant outsmart the trap..to prevent mice try the kind that you plug in the wall the electric kind...they seem to work well for me. They are kind of expensive 8 or 9 dollars for 2 but I have not had any mice in almost a year and we used to have a real problem with them.. we live near a hay field and when they would mow the hay we would catch sometimes two a day for a week . now no mice for a year...

Glue traps are the best, they have a bate and an odor that attracts mice. You can get them at a Home Depot or Lowes.

To get rid of them if they are already in, use one or more of the above suggestions. To keep them out, find out where they're getting in and stuff the opening with a hard bundle of cloth that can't be dislodged. Soak it with amonia until you can smell it from a foot or so away. Walk away. The little mikeys will inhale the amonia and die in a few minutes. Encountering the fumes will teach the family that your domicile is not Trader Vics. B.

There are some glues for mice. Put this glue on a piece of board and put it somewhere where you think mice can go over it.

If you are not squeamish I have found great success with a simple spring trap that you can get at any hardware store for about eighty cents and use peanut butter for bait. Just a little, you are not trying to feed them. The peanut butter sticks best.

Any or all of the above work. But be aware that you can't have pet rats, mice, guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits, gerbils or anything like them if you use the electronic devices. It WILL kill them!
Friend of mine had an electronic one and killed two guinea pigs before she figured out why they were dying.

DON'T USE POISON in your house... dead mice will end up in your walls and stink. Cats are good mousers, but otherwise use basic mouse traps with peanut butter... best way to make sure they are gone. They also sell devices that use sound to deter mice... if you don't want to kill them.
