An easy way to remember this is Precipitation/Evaporation/Condensation/Precipitation

Precipitation - Rain falls
Evaporation - Water evaporates into the air, going back towards the clouds
Condensation - Water gathers, forming clouds, until it falls again
Precipitation - it starts all over again

The water cycle is the contant process of water evaporating, falling as rain, being locked up in ice, flowing from the mountains back to the sea in rivers, and evaporating once more. It's critical to the Earth's climate and the survival of organisms at every level of the food chain.

When i was in primary class I was taught that water from all sources on the surface of the earth evoperates by sunlight and turns into clouds. When cold current(Breeze) hits this water laden cloud it falls back into this earth as rain.
