it books up, the boot-up muic skips?! It also skips when I'm running a brower. I can't surf the internet and listen to music at the same time? Anyone know why it would be doing this. I just bought it in the middle of August... brand new... help!??

I have the same issue with one of my desktops PC's.
The problem is related to my using Microsoft Media Player 11 and the fact that my CPU (2.2G clock speed) only runs at 1.49G in the PC. According to a program I use, the CPU is always cranking at 70 to 100% capability when I'm playing music on the v11 media player. If I launch Internet Explorer or Firefox it takes about 1-2 minutes to boot up the Yahoo home page.
Even though your laptop is "new", you may have the same kind of issue going on.
I reverted back to Media Player 9 and everything is fine.

what are the specs of your pc maybe you dont have enough RAM
