Nope. The oil corporations got a taste of record profits, they'll never let go of that puppy!

Plus, by raising gas to the price they have, many Americans are now conditioned into thinking that $2.40 for a gallon of gas is acceptable.

I doubt it very much. The U.S. is the most dependent country for oil and gas and now that weve gotten use to paying 2.40 a gal and higher thats most likely where the prices will stay. Its rather disturbing that we as americans are so dependent on this.

It very well might, but not by much, ala $1.99. Just enough to give us hope. I say this because the vacation driving season is over, and, so far, nothing bad is predicted for the Tropics.
If we suddenly start getting hurricanes though, all bets are off.

$2.77 here in CT , but going down below $2.00 seems like a genie giving me a wish!
Hope it really does MOFO it would be a wonderful reason to travel around the country again by car!

I certainly hope so. We do have stations here in Houston that are down to $2.18. Predictions say that by Thanksgiving we could be seeing $2.00 a gallon. Won't that be nice.

It just dropped to $2.49 here, BUT heard on NPR this morning that OPEC is likely to cut production later this year.

It may go a bit lower, but it may not make it below $2.

no i dont think so coz the price of the oil is getting higher
and the US is playing hard on our factory of oil the "middle east".so i dont think its gonnna go under 2.00$ per gallon.

I dont think that it will go under 2.00 because as much that is going on right now its like imposssible for them to do that i mean our country is already in debt do really think tat they would do something for them to lose more money ?

compare what the break down price is for a bottle of water we buy everyday, plus a gal. of milk, its really not that high, but do wish we would lessen our need of oil, its 2.51 here in ky
