if we do not leave Iraq, what should we do, cut and run, or stay and help Iraqs democratically elected government stabilize their country?

It seems that al-Zawahri is saying the same thing the democrats in congress are saying, should we heed their warning and leave Iraq in defeat?

Why would al-Zawahri echo the sentiments of the democrats in the US congress?

Do you believe that al-Qaida is hoping for a democrat controlled US congress?

We have to stay now, It took decades to fix Germany and Japan it will take as long to get Iraq stablized as well. You can not have a dictator for so long and not expect to have generations screwed up. Yes he said he was elected, but how many elected officials do you know get 99% of the vote?

It is not IF at all. The USA has been threatened many times since long before the WTC went down. There are still threats being made. We are in Iraq right or wrong we are there and have to stay for some time to come. The Democrats are in the minority now so if they get the majority and especially if there is a Democrat President then I bet there will be a lot of switching to saying we have to stay at least another four years. Remember a lot of Democrats had to have voted to go to Iraq. Bush had to have the approval of the house and senate to invade Iraq.

Al-Qaida attacked us several times before we went to war with Iraq. If we leave, that will not stop them from attacking us. We are being attacked by an idea. We represent everything these groups hate in this world. As far as Dems or Reps controlling Congress, it does not matter. Islamic terrorists attacked our interests here and abroad when Carter was in office, Reagan, Bush Sr., several times while Clinton was in, and now with Bush. I know it is trendy to blame the US for its problems in the middle east, that somehow we deserve what we get, but if there is any blame to go around, it should be placed on the terrorist who keep attacking us. My wife's son was in NYC on that awful day and had almost been assigned by his work to the WTC!!! Osama Bin Laden says it is OK to kill men, women and CHILDREN, so he approves of CHILD MURDER!!! I don't give a damn what Al-Zawahri says and if they think the Democrats will be soft on them they are nuts. Yes, of course! The answer is so obvious that anyone with a third grade education should be able to figure it out. If we just kill all of the people in the world who hate us, then our troubles will be over.

If we can't find al Qaida in Iraq, we'll just have to go invade another country, maybe Iran next? Then Syria or Lebanon or any other place full of raghead US haters. That's the only way - teach them to love America or die.

We will, of course, need to reimpose the draft and get the army up to where it should be - a million or more soldiers, and a lot more bombs too. It's us or them, so we need to kill all the radical ragheads, and if we get a few that pretend they're not radical, well, what's one fewer raghead, more or less? Some nukes on Pakistan, where bin Laden is hiding, wouldn't be too bad either. We can pay for this all just by cutting out welfare.

We need to draft the Democrats first, and send them over there.

Only when we kill all the people who hate us will we have peace and national security. They may not love us, but they will fear us.

Al-Qaida will threaten the US regardless if we continue to stay in Iraq. Their goal is complete domination of the Islamic religion as they interpret it. No matter haw much we would try to appease them the will still try and attack us. Just look at the Palestinians, Israel moves its own people out of settlements to give them to the Palestinian people, and they continue to attack Israel. Bin Laden and his fellow Islamo-fascist crazies would continue to do the same thing. The only way we can lose in Iraq is to leave before the Iraqi government can control its own borders.
