Yes, I think it has. Polititians, I understand must be politically correct, but, that's different.
One also needs to question their motives when considering freedom of speach. Is one simply exercising it to hurt someone else? Or is one trying to convey a certain idea and is caught because their words were being put under a microscope?
For example about six monthes ago, my fiance, myself, and a friend of ours (roomate at the time) were playing the game Risk. Our less-than-mature friend of 27 years old, called me a few very bad names not in a joking way because I broke his continent. We told him to take it back and he said no this is Canada and its my freedom of speach. So... My fiance said some really nasty things about this guy's race, how they were cowards and a bunch of nasty stuff he didn't really mean.
The guy was reduced to tears and went into his room to sulk like a child. Then my fiance went in and said well if you can say that about her and that's freedom of speach. I can say what I said and it's also free speach. It doesn't make it right though, does it? (The guy said no but it was totally different... But, eventually, he agreed, he shouldn't of said it and freedom of speach is within reason.)

Hehe, I'm a so-called "liberal", and I despise political correctness, and see it for the lie that it is. It's one thing to respect people's differences, but it's another to amplify those differences. The point of our country is that such diverse people are coming together as one...not going off their own ways. Political correctness stifles honesty. It prevents us from truely knowing the mind of our compatriots. It is a wall preventing diplomacy before it even begins, because you cannot discuss or fix a problem if you don't even know it exists.

Most definitely. PC is wrecking the world. All it does is cause people to turn their aggression elsewhere. But at the same time PC only flows one way. It depends who you are as to whether you have to be PC. Its really a shiled for the weak to hide behind, only those who have the strength to look at life and take it on are able to use phrases and words that are not PC. Its simply another way for the goody-goodies to run (or try to run) our lives.

absolutely. Americans that have been in this country for years don't stand a chance anymore. i hate it for my kids and future grandkids. The Govt gives strangers to our nation bigger advantages and tax breaks than they do our own people. it's reall a shame, but no one has the balls to try to change it.
