I'm in college, and I'm thinking about majoring in Earth Science w/ a concentration in Environmental science, but I'm kind of worried about the job oppurtunities. Should I major in that? Otherwise I'd want to do something liberal arts-ish, like Government, History or Global Affairs. What do you think?

No it's not.

It's an important area, but the real work is done by people w/ engineering degrees, or chmistry or biology.

Your other choices are yours. I always recommend that people making this desicion "know thyself" first and foremost. Not only your skills, but your personality type, passions, aspirations, etc.

Then do some first hand research on what those jobs will provide. Don't trust counsellors, and professors who have never worked in the field.
