The last day of my last period was July 8th and it is now September 11th. I usually have a pretty normal cycle (28-30 days) and I still have not gotten my period since the last time I had sex (july 9-11 then the 7th of August as well). I haven't gained or lost any weight recently, I'm not stressed, and I took 3 pregnancy tests all of which were negative. I also went to Planned Parenthood today to get a blood test and they said they couldn't find a vein so they wouldn't perform one on me. Also, the lady was very rude and said if I took an otc test and it was negative, I'm not pregnant. I'm not feeling or noticing anything VERY different except for some mild cramping (like pre-menstrual cramps) and my left ovary hurts. I have increased vaginal discharge as well that is almost like water its so thin. This has been going off and on for the past 3 or 4 weeks. Also, if I don't eat anything, for awhile I start to feel kind of weak and shaky which NEVER used to happen. What's wrong with me!?

I would just like to add that I'm only 18 years old and am in a monogamous relationship.
Also, I went to Planned Parenthood about the middle of July to get birth control which I haven't been able to start yet since I haven't gotten my period.
Would you suggest I start taking the birth control or will that mess things up even more?

Thanks to everyone who has answered so far. You've been great support. I just wanted to add that the planned parenthood lady didn't even ask me if I've been having symptoms or anything. I will never go back there again! I only went there in the first place because I dont have insurance but I'm sure my mom will help me out with paying for it. So I'll take everyone's advice and go to the doctor I suppose! Hopefully they'll get me in soon. And I'll hold off on the birth control pills as well. But also, the lady at planned parenthood told me that I could start taking them. And that if there was a slight chance I was pregnant, they wouldnt hurt the baby. Is this true?

You need an exam, not just a blood test. It's certainly possible you just skipped a period and you are now about to have one from your symptoms, but there is a chance that you ARE pregnant, negative home tests or not. (If you didn't use your first morning urine you can get a false negative, for example.) Urine tests may have false negatives for that matter.

If you are pregnant, that painful ovary could actually be a tubal pregnancy and there could be the risk of a rupture. An ultrasound can usually easily diagnose that and might detect other problems (like a cyst) that could be going on. Delaying diagnosis of an ectopic pregnancy could mean an emergency situation that risks you life and your future fertility. You've had cramping and discomfort around an ovary for about a month and that needs to be investigated at any rate. The weird feelings if you don't eat could be a great many things. Guessing isn't very helpful.

If someone was rude to you at Planned Parenthood, please report this to a supervisor. This is not normal treatment. Neither is saying they won't test you because you are a hard stick, they should have had someone else try.

If it is determined that you aren't pregnant and nothing is seriously wrong, you can start the pill period or not. You will need to take it for a full week before you can stop using other birth control, and they should explain this option to you.

But please get someone to actually examine you for safety's sake and for your own piece of mind.

I would not start your birth control pills, until you are positive you are not pregnant. It really doesn't sound like you are pregnant. The new OTC pregnancy test are pretty accurate. I can't figure out why they couldn't find a vein to do a blood draw. I have done them on people with very fragile veins, like the elderly. If you have the money I would go to a regular doctor to find out if you are pregnant. It could just be a hormonal in balance. Or try getting a temp medical card from the welfare office, or whatever it is called where you live. You can also go to the Emergancy room and tell them you think you are pregnant, but are having bad cramps, they will run test to tell you what is going on. And they will bill you, instead of you having to pay right away.
I hope this helps. Good luck.

Hi, I would suggest getting tested for PCOS, Polycystic overian syndrome. It is a disease that is very manageable with proper, diet, medication and a bit of a change of lifestyle if that is necessary.

It actually is a predisposition for having cysts--hard balls of tissue in your ovaries--which could be why your left ovary hurts--it can also cause irregular periods; plus it can mimic blood sugar issues (such as having issues with not eating on a reg. basis).

Its not a simple blood test & it could be expensive if it not from Canada where you are writing. Its a series of tests over a month or 2.

Another large sign of PCOS is hair that grows on your body (face, etc) that just can't go away and most PCOS's do have weight issues.

You may also just have a cyst--annoying little buggers that also cause said symtoms if they go on too long. That is a simple day-surgery. Either way, you're going to need to go to a regular medical clinic, the planned parenthood is ONLY for those who are pregnant or think that they are.

Good luck

First I don't think you have ruled out the pregnancy thing completely. If you are and it appears that you are concerned that there is a likelyhood you might be with child rule it in or out. Forget the asshole at PP and go to another facility. Express your concerns and prior interactions they will treat you with the respect you deserve. Also you can contact Baby you Baby they will also help you if you have a little you on the way! Good luck and God bless you both!
