particularly GW Bush's? To those who believe that, how could something that big, involving so many persons, be kept secret for so long?

Let me just clarify my stance. Though I don't exactly like GWB, I don't believe the conspiracy tehoery. Except that there might thave been a couple people inside to facilitate the terrorists's life (eg, allowing then to enter the US, taking piloting lessons etc...) but certainly not a Gov't plan! To the first poster, thanks for the link, I was was looking for a good site to send a friend whom I had a quarrel with - he accuses Bush of those terrible events.
I still don't want to believe I live in a total jungle!

I don't believe that the government actually DID it, but I do believe that the government let our guard down so it was possible for 9/11 to happen.

The plans were there for a long, long time, on the shelf waiting to be implemented. The Neo cons had to take office first and could finally do so with George W Bush. I don't think they did it themselves but they sure let the attacks occur in order to obtain the white card for all their plans and operations.
The fact that it was kept a secret for so long is simple: for years after the 9-11 attacks nobody dared to point a finger at the US government because otherwise they would be considered an enemy of the state. In such a climate no critical questions are asked and the people who opened their mouths were censored. Everybody backed the war in Iraq because they believed the government. Now it is clear that many lies were told and people are starting to see the side effects of the wars straight into their homes. Then it is slowly time for the truth

Well, I do not believe the entire government -- all three branches -- could be involved in a massive conspiracy without the news leaking out. Our news media are too nosy and too good at their job. But it is well known that the US, in one form or another, has a finger in virtually every pie. It has often been said that Osama Bad Boy got money from some US government agency or program in years past. That is not the same as saying that his plan for 9/11 had been created by anyone in our own government.
Still, it did give Bush the excuse he needed to put some police-state "homeland security" measures in place, didn't it?

Most of the evidence is VISUAL, that ANYBODY could see, the rest is the FIREMAN'S TRANSCRIPTS from inside the Trade Center buildings, testimony from employees about events within the buildings in the weeks just prior to 9-11, LIVE NEWS VIDEO victim interviews during the tragedy, seismic proof, and a LONG list of too many coincidences to even be coincidences.
Anyone who doesn't believe is either ignorant of the evidence FIRST HAND (is reading naysayers opinions, not checking for themselves), and/or just doesn't WANT to believe.
Yes, there's lots of conjecture. But the evidence that ISN'T conjecture (news video, government officials being interviewed, seismic, fireman transcripts, news photographs) is EXTREMELY convincing in itself.

I do not believe our government had anything to do with the terrorist attacks of 9/11/01. I think the conspiracy theorists are sadly mistaken.
