FUR - the fine, soft, thick, 'hairy' coat of the skin of a mammal.
HAIR - any of the numerous fine, usually cylindrical, keratinous (A tough, insoluble protein substance that is the chief structural constituent of hair, nails, horns, and hooves) filaments growing from the skin of humans and animals; a pilus (A fine filamentous appendage, somewhat analogous to the flagellum, that occurs on some bacteria)
As you may know, "we" humans are mammals. Technically we do have fur. However, during many of your searchs you may see that fur typically is referring to that on animals, were as hair is that to humans.

There actually is no difference between hair and fur. Hair is fur that is mainly on your head, and fur is hair that covers an animal's whole body (or, at least, most of it). We just don't say that we have fur because it sounds so animalistic, and we don't say animals have hair because it makes them seem human. If you look at the your dog's or cat's fur, you'll see it looks just like our head hair. And the fur on the belly of a puppy is just like the hair on our legs, actually I think it's finer than ours.
I hope you have been enlightened, my man!

HAIR -is a name for all types of coverings on mammals
FUR is shed and is finer (each strand is thinner)- it grows to a certain limited lenght then falls out.. and is replaced
HAIR typically grows and grows, but not always (eg. Barbado and other HAIR SHEEP)
WOOL grows, is curly to a variety of degrees... it doesnt shed like fur or hair... so needs to be cut
really all are HAIR just different names for it.. but ALL MAMMALS have HAIR.... what you call it after the fact is up to you....

Hair is usually confined to one area, while fur usually covers the whole body.
Fur is also usually much finer / denser than hair.
