Chinese, since Hong Kong was returned to the Chinese government. Also, Hong Kong citizen, and there are references to "a Hong Kong child, for instance."

I regret to say that when I was in the Army, the inhabitants were known generically as Chogs.
A very non-PC word, but I believe that the soldiers meant no offence by that word or any of the other words they used to describe foreigners it was just a convenient word to use when talking to mates about the locals.

Ex-pats! although most of the population is Chinese consisting of Cantonese, Shanghainese speaking peoples. Probably more speaking of different Chinese dialects.
