Look baby its is your nans funeral, you just sit and listen and pay your respects it will be the last time you will see her,talk to her nobody is going to want to hear a ipod blasting out either during someone precious to them funeral. Leaveit at home and go and pay your respects if you are going to have your ipod on all the way thur you may as well not go.

How about a little respect during the service? By all means have some music that will allow you to come to terms with and mourn your Nan, but playing your IPod in a service will not only show disrespect to your Nan, but surely to others' in the service.

My condolences by the way.

Hopefully this is just a poor attempt at humour!

If it is a serious question you should be ashamed of yourself! No matter what you ever thought of your Nan (which would appear to be very little) you should at least be able to respect her death my leaving the ipod at home and sitting through her funeral in silence! At least even for the rest of your family if not for yourself!

Attending her funeral without your ipod won't be a big deal, you will have the rest of your life to listen to music!!!

You should listen to nothing on your iPod!!! You sould be listening to everone celebrate your nan's life.
Gees, this question has really made my blood boil!
Going by your question, it says to me that you are not all that concerned by your nan's passing. If this is the case, I truely feel for you, as you have missed out on so much
What a pity more youngsters are not privvy to the wonders held by the elder members of our communities, as they hold so much knowledge.
Stop being so b!oody selfish and show some respect for your nan, not to mention the rest of your family. How would you feel if people sat at your funeral listening to mundane music on a silly little machine. I dread to think how your mum and dad might feel if they saw what you were doing.
Shame on you, Shame. And, shame on all the answers offering music selections for you.
Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!

consolations grinner - my nan died recently too :*(
I recommend porcelain by the red hot chilli peppers

and btw - to all the people that have knocked this question, everyone deals with grief in different ways. certain songs can highlight emotions or calm you and help you deal with stressful or negative situations. don't be so closed minded, and accept that there are more ways to pay respect to the dead. as an atheist myself i find the singing of hymns at a funeral depressing, bringing a player so you can listen to what you want and mourn your nan in a way you feel comfortable with is a great idea

Nothing! You should leave your iPod in the car and turned off. You should listen to what is being said. You would be surprised to learn something you didn't know about your Nan. Respect her and your family and leave your iPod in the car or at home.

My condolences.

All you'll need for a truly memorable send-off is:

a. Your iPod;
b. A decent-sized speaker located in your Nan's coffin;
c. Appropriate cabling to connect the two to a good amp; and
d. The spoken introduction to 'The Number Of The Beast' by Iron Maiden (from the album of the same name, released in 1982)***.

Let the priest get well and truly warmed up, then let 'er rip.

Any elderly members of the congregation will immediately join your Nan on the 'other side' to keep her company, so it's all for a good cause, trust me.

Leave the iPod at home. It's not like this is a trip to the mall or riding your bike down the street... it's a funeral for your nana!
This is only part of ONE DAY out of your life to show respect for her. It's not about which soundtrack you think will entertain you for the occasion.

Great question, shows lots of feeling and respect for your gran and family.

sounds like it should be "didn't like you very much when I met you" by The Wonderstuff.

Alternatively you could do the decent thing and not turn up if your not inerested in the service.
