I am in the process of getting a displasia removed from my cervix so I didn't want to be impregnated at the time although we have talked about having a baby. I took plan B and no bleeding or cramps nothing, well my period is due on the 16 of this month but I had some brown spotting 2 weeks ago that lasted a few days. I have been really crabby latley and I don't feel good after I eat. I am supposed to get the displasia removed soon but I wonder if it would cause a miscarrage if I am pregnant, so I have been putting it off. Do you think it is a safe thing to do. Also does it sound like I might be pregnant?

i think you better see your doctor, hon, with dysplaysia, its not safe to wait for anything as any problems can put off getting it fixed...if it isnt fixed it can become cancer at a later date.

I had dysplasia removed from my cervix a few years ago and one thing the doc told me was to NOT try and get pregnant for atleast 6 weeks afterward. I don't know about the spotting thing, but I would get a pregnancy test done. Tell your Dr. that will be preforming the procedure...maybe he can do a blood test. That way he will know what to do if you are indeed pregnant. I am currently pregnant and I have dysplasia again, which was found at 6 weeks preg., and my doc decided to wait until I gave birth to remove it...so I recommend you get tested! HTH!!!

Cases of cervical dysplasia may advance during pregnancy, but treatment can generally be deferred until after delivery
A biopsy to diagnose cervical dysplasia is safe to perform during pregnancy
Treatment with cervical conization may adversely affect fertility
All you can do hun is take a test and talk to your doctor!
