I have a terrible itch to my anus. what could that be?

I am very clean but still I have this terrible itch and I don't know how I can get rid of it

Pin worms are a common cause particularly in children. They are sometimes detected by the "scotch tape" test. Where a piece of double sided tape is placed next to the anus while sleeping. The worms come out at night and will sometimes be adherent to the tape. Mebendezole (antiparasite) is the common prescription treatment, but since the entire lifecycle is dependent on recirculation in the gut it is not necessary. If you don't scratch and therefore don't get the microscopic eggs on your hands and later into your mouth, you won't regenerate the larva. Second most common is Hemorhoids.

1 word. Wet whipes. Know how your nose gets raw when you have to blow it repeatedly? Imagine that same rawness but on your anus with fecal particles getting in it. Wet whipe toilet paper is much more comfortable and does a better job faster.

sometimes you can be too clean--excessive wiping can cause this. hemhroids are a cause as are pinworms--check symptoms and call your dr.
