This December I have about 8 days free off, and have to be in Spain for New Years anyway. W/ 8 days to spend, which would be better in terms of enough time allotted, cheapest flight, and logistics. I kind of want to see Morocco more, but am willing to do Spain if it would just be too hard to do.

if u go to morocco it'll probably cost u less, or if u spend money it'll be well worth it, since u'll get more quality for the price u pay, whether it's for food, hotel, souvenirs, etc.... new year's is hot in morocco too, there's this club in marrakech called pacha, they hold one of the best new year's parties in the country. casablanca, agadir, are also well known for the new year's celebration but u have to reserve well in advance. but if u're staying in a hotel and willing to attend the hotel's new year's party then u won't have to worry about reservations.
if u change ur mind, u can always cross to spain by ferry http://www.comanav.ma/ferry/horaires/choix-nador-sete.htm good luck and enjoy ur trip
