You cant adjust the contrast of a TFT screen but you can adjust the brightness of one.
One of the function keeys on the top of the keyboard with a symbol of a sun (or similar) pressed in conjunction with the "Fn" key should adjust the brightness.
You can muck around with the color controls of the advanced features of your video card (if the driver supports it) to change the colors of your screen though.

Some video chipsets have tint, contrast, and more in the display control panel. On the settings tab, click advanced. Then, look for ForceWare, Catalyst Control Center, or a similar thing to adjust your monitor

Pop open the control panel in front of the screen. Push the big red button. Put your hands over your ears to muffle the sound of the explosion as your laptop explodes.
