My default player was windows media player,4 some reason,videos are being played with Realplayer, how I switch

If you are using Windows XP, open My Computer, and then go to the folder containing one video file. Then, right click on the file, and click on Open With... After that, select Windows Media Player on the List, and check the Checkbox saying Always use the selected program to open this kind of file. Finally, click on OK. Hope this helps. :)

no guys thats not the way it works.. i've been trying this but this does NOT work.. i have even tried to alter the registry (although i never have done this b4) but it wont work either!!

the only way i figured out was to uninstall real one!! :P
or maybe re-install windows media player so that it automatically re-assigns the files to itself..

besides that if u have a firewall you will notice realone player accessing the internet to transfer your usage habits to the real one servers.. i always block that.. if you dont have a firewall look out for the real one background info gathering agent with the filename RNDAL.EXE in your task manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del)

realone is nast spying authority over-riding stupid mp3 player.. why do u even need it!! i mean there's winamp, jetaudio and yahoo media player (which yahoo claims has been rated as the best player)!

Go to the video you want to play, right-click it and select "Open/Play with"...then choose "Select from list" and choose the player you want to use.

There should also be a tickbox somewhere in the bottom of the window saying that you can choose that player as your default one.
