Thanks to all of you.
Can anyone eleborate on what kind of harm this causes to the baby? Or tell me where I can read about it.. Or just email me and explain more to me.
I have been under severe stress for a month and a half. I have been working very hard to keep calm for me, the baby and my 4 year old son. But lately things are worse and I am finding it hard to control my emotions.. I am trying very hard... but lately I just can't control it.

It can definitely cause contractions, but I believe it has to be prolonged exposure to a large amount of stress that will actually cause labor. It is more of a concern early on, when extreme stress can cause you to miscarry.
I say yes to the contractions, because I experienced it. But as soon as I calmed myself down, I was fine, contractions stopped.
However, the constant stress, is also more unneeded stress on your baby, that can and will cause damage, which is what you don't want of course.
So keeping your blood pressure at an even keel is a bonus in more ways than one. You don't want to cause undue stress to yourself, when you are already under unusual stress, or cause undue stress to the baby, who is not yet prepared to handle such things.

Yes, but it also depends on your physical condition when carrying the baby. If you have had a normal pregnancy the emotional stress would have to be tramatic like a husband dying or being involved in a disaster of some sort. If oyur were a high risk pregnancy it could be something as little as getting upset with someone and yelling at them.

Serious emotional stress can cause premature labor and worse, miscarriage. Don't stress hon. I just lost my baby September 6, due to being overly stressed.

Most definetly. My ex was a jerk. The night i went into labor we were arguing and he said lots of stuff that really upset me and put me into labor. My son was 3 weeks early, which isnt considered premature though, but it did the trick.

Yes, talk to your doctor. There are different things you can do to relieve some stress. But you should ask your doctor since every pregnant woman is different and he/she would know your medical history better than all of us.
