No war in Iraq and the loss of our soldiers lives, no invasion into Afghanistan and the loss of our soldiers lives, no speculation of invasion to other mid-east countries, no illegal telephone and Internet tapping, no restrictive traveling, maybe a quicker rebuild of the Gulf area after Katrina, maybe more focus on building a stronger economy, maybe focus on rebuilding social security, maybe less focus on illegal immigrants from Mexico. Who really no for sure what happened that tragic day 5 years ago we can only hope that this will all be over soon and we as Americans can resume are normal day to day lives.

Perhaps a kinder, gentler place.... but that would depend on what the Islamo-fascists did in the mean time.....

When we have the president of Iran, who is more or less told what to do by the Ayatollah Kohmanei, saying that all countries of the world will bow down to Iran and Islam... and that those who won't will be forced to bow down to Islam and Iran..... it is hard to imagine the world being gentler or kinder in the past five years, 9/11 or not.... he is like Hitler, a mad man....

We would have had a lot of different lead news stories... a lot of people might still be alive... families together that were ripped apart by Muslim violence.

It might be that Lebanon would not be a scene of destruction and death, Saddam might still be keeping a lid on the factions in Iraq.... in a way he was like Tito of Yugoslavia.... but used unacceptable(to most of the free world) tactics to achieve his control.....

But, I think the main difference would be in the death count as a result of terrorism and war...

This conflict with Islamic lunatics has been coming to a head for 30+ years.... and it has to be fought....

Islamics believe that the 12th Iman/Aman will return once they have stirred up enough conflict and war throughout the world.... their Messiah will allow them to be triumphant..... ..... ..... BUT, WE WON'T..... The sane civilizations of the world will come out on top..... it is so demoralizing, there will be lots of controversy and death before this war is over.... But, the future of the entire world is at stake.... Iran will use Nukes if they are successful in developing them or buying them.... they think they are on a mission from their ideological god.... but the truth is Allah will be their downfall.... Islam will disappear as an ideology of hate.... its only hope for any chance of survival is to become a true religion that truly advocates peace.....

Allah has had enough of the twisted Muslim Brotherhood.... and its descendants and offshoots. Allah is pissed at Muslims who will not speak out against Muslims who commit criminal terrorists acts in his name....

BEWARE Muslims.... Allah is coming... Allah is pissed.... Allah will shower you with pig entrails..... Temper your ways.... the Light is at hand.... the light will come from the West.... only darkness comes from the Muslim Brotherhood. Allah commands, WAKE UP... or DIE..

Prior to 911 the people of the west enjoyed a reasonable amount of civic freedom and rights. The arabs didnt, they were abused and killed by their leaders.
Post 911, the people of the west have lost many of their rights and freedoms, bushes pals have made zillions, and the arabs are still being abused and killed, by the americans and the butt kissing brits.
Great deal all round for the fascists.

The world may be a little safer. The USA should of finished the job in Afganistan, before going to Iraq.

It is also important to remember the world isn't dependent on the USA. And it doesn't revolve around us.

That was never an option,9/11 had to happen so this current government could invade afghanistan and iraq. There was never a chance for it not to happen.

It would be the same. We still would have invaded Afghanistan and Iraq. we were going to end up in this mess the day Bush was elected, 9/11 just gave Cheney and Rummy a chance to move a bit faster.
