Man have always feared what they cannot understand. Homosexuality is the perfect example of this. We've always accepted and are comfortable with a man being together with a woman, like Adam and Eve. Even religion supports this (though there are some which allegedly allow homosexuality, but not sure what). So society and religion tie in closely together in this issue. Yes i agree that society should be more understanding and recognise that homosexuality is inherent and not a choice. Being gay does not make him or her a bad person. They just have different preferences from many of us. We have to put a stop to all these insults to prevent more innocents from being hurt. Like myself. ;)

the problem for male homosexuals is from bigots, which can lead to really ugly trouble.around here people are tolerant even intrigued by female homosexuals(for some reason called lesbians)and the lesbians have the same gift of networking and being social that women in general have so they hang together more as a community than the male homosexuals.

It's largely due to ignorance of people, especially on human sexuality. Also, if this type of thing (making fun of people, etc.) was allowed in the home when these people were young children, they hear that and think they can be abusive to others who are not like them.
Sometimes the abusers are actually gay or bi themselves and attack non-straights just to throw off their friends and relatives.
Sometimes they are straight, but need a scapegoat to turn their anger on over a non-related part of their lives that they have no control over. It's very much like how people treated Jews in WWII Germany or how others treated black people in the U.S South at one time.

Here again we men are so afraid that we might be homosexual that we fear them. Those of us that know we are not homosexual really don't care. Let people live their lives the way god made them. The question realty is does god make all of us. WE would answer yes. Well God made homosexuals also, and their is nothing wrong wit them. O, because of our insecurities we wrote into the Bible a long time ago that we should not accept them. God does not make mastakes, but we do.

Gay people are on easy group to pick on. We are only 10% of the population and how we have sex is physicly repulisive to the the majority of people. In addition, many religions have religious references saying that what we do is wrong.
Some of our worst enemies are gays in denial. A gay in denial will often become the most bitter homophobe you can imagine. Studies are proving this! A gay in denial has his false sense of security shattered by the presence of homosexuals who are comfortable with themselves and this is why they become so hateful.
Some gay people give the rest of us bad names. Any man that rapes a boy or another man does us all considerable damage. Nevermind that their are already countless straight men raping women and girls. People have to be educated that gay men and women want relationships with grown adults, not children.
See some gay films. Boys don't cry, latter days, broken hearts clud, kissing Jessica Stein.

Well, if they aren't thumpin' the Bible to back up their own prejudice, I'd say many of them go looking for someone else to put down to make themselves feel better... it's called the "At least I ain't a ______" syndrome(you can fill in the blank with whatever bad name for a minority you choose). Many people with low self-esteem pick out others that they think are "lower" than they are to make themselves feel better. The thing that really bothers them is when they make comments like that and the person they are picking on simply laughs at them.

You know a lot of people who speak poorly of homosexuals and homosexuality disagree with the term homophobia, because they say that a phobia is a fear, and they are not afraid of us.
But I believe that it is a fear. A fear of the unknown, of something they don't understand. And while they may not fear me personally, heck, I'm not very fearsome, they fear the entire concept of same-gender loving, because they cannot comprehend it, don't understand it.
So making fun of it, or despising it, or condemning it to hell is a good way at keeping this fearsome thing at arms distance.
This is borne out by the fact that I've observed, the more people get to know us, and to realize that other than who we love and sleep with, we are JUST LIKE STRAIGHT PEOPLE!

God puts each of us in our circumstances for a reason. Maybe you are there to learn something about the person maybe you are there to learn something about yourself, maybe you are there because God is teaching you about life or maybe you are there to be an example to others. God put people into situations as diverse as there are people. Trailer parks often have strong community supports with in them because they a populated with people who have had a variety of hardships. Red necks are there because there needs to be hard working, hard living people to do the tasks others can not. Bible pushers are there to try to get us to all live a better life. City folks well I am sorry I don’t understand their purpose except they can’t all live in the country. And homosexuals are there to teach us that love has no bounds. Unfortunately Satan doesn't want that message spread and uses this to confound and confuse all the rest to make them turn against those God chose for this purpose. This is why Satan has targeted Bible pushers the most because they are supposed to be doing gods work but they are just as easily lead away from that purpose as homosexuals are lead into sexual depravity. Lust it the major sin that each of these parties are subject too. And lust is the major sin God talks about in the bible. Loving sexual relationships are not condemned. But lustful ones are. Homosexuality is not mentioned in the bible because the word did not exist in bible time’s men where free to form what ever bonds they wished with other men and women where free to do the same. The covenant of marriage was also free in that men could have many wives but women unfortunately where not allowed to have many husbands. This was because it was seen as a great sin to have man raise the child of another man. Married men could form covenants with other men though and often did. Women I am not sure if they could form these covenants with other women but I imagine if you where in a marriage with a man who had many wives it was easy to find a woman with whom to do so if your husbands other wife was agreeable. There where prohibitions against two men lying with the same woman at the same time but not a man lying with two women at the same time. This of course goes back to the thing I mentioned earlier that it was a great crime to force a man to raise the child of another man. Anal sex also had prohibitions because the spread of disease was so great that to touch feces was something that was forbidden. I think this fear is what causes many of the problems that we have against the gay community today. The media perpetrates the problem because they constantly assume that all gay men are into anal sex. This is why I do not associate with the gay lable I am g0y we are homosexual men who do not do anal sex and do not do effeminate behavior.

It is something that is different than what they are themselves. That is why people poke fun at anything. Rednecks get ridiculed, those whom live in trailer parks get called trailer trash, Homosexuals are called queers, fags, homos, etc.
People don't understand something that they have not experienced. It is better to act upon it like they do than for them to be curious and learn something else. Those who can not understand, wish not to understand, or they wish to hide something about themselves that they wish would not be brought out into the open.

The sex drive is the strongest, most natural instinct a person feels, and some straight people have a hard time understanding how someone can be attracted to someone of the same sex while it feels so unnatural to them. Not to mention that there are old-fashioned prejudices that are carried down from generation to generation, as well as religious zealots who preach hatred toward this "unnatural" sexual drive. (I put the word "unnatural" in quotes because I myself do not believe my sexual attraction to people of the same sex is unnatural.)
