They fall for it because of the most insidious 4 letter word in the English language, and it ain't f***. It is FEAR. People are made to believe the boogie man is at the door and ready to pounce unless you sit back like an automaton and allow them to vanquish it away. Like when parents tell kids that if they get out of bed before morning the closet monster will hear them and come get them. So long as they can sell the fear, logic is drowned out. That is why they say "support us in staying the course. If we cut and run, they will follow us back here" aka they will blow up YOUR HOUSE, and kill YOUR kids. Many of the so-call plots they have uncovered are from wannabees, or fruit cakes who never even had a position in Al Qaeda. But they are good enough to parade in from of a gullible America to say "see we told you. Believe and follow us" Ben Franklin said something to the effect of those who would allow the Constitution to be trampled to deaf out of fear that upholding it would mean a possible attack; "They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety"

Bush does not have a Divide and Conquer strategy. Not sure what tabloid you got your information from, but you may want to start fact checking...

Because 95 percent of Americans are followers and not leaders. There brains are conditioned by the 5 major networks that own all media coverage. Its easier to get people to hate others then to reason and find compassion for the weak and ignorant.People love to control others because it replaces the insecurities of there pathetic egos.

Your question is not all encompassing for all Americans. And I don't think the "divide & conquer" scenario is accurate, not even for this administration. Also, those are some nice legs!

any super power in the world has to have a dived and conquer strategy. as for bush , he has no strategy whatsoever, he is dump.
as Americans, we always had governments that neuter this concept, oulbrit did it in darfur , we did it in the soviet union and we will keep doing it until we can take over the world.
Bush is nothing but a joke , he does not have strategy except of course of becoming richer, him and his entourage of plunderers.
