In my opinion, the last decent President we had was FDR. He did great things for this country, and truly cared about the people and understood human suffering. His policies were revolutionary, and truly helped the people of this nation not only ending the Great Depression, but bringing us into WW2 and fighting a legitimate war that truly threatened the American way of life. Since him, I believe the only other good President was Dwight D. Eisenhower, since he warned this country against the military industrial complex (too bad Kennedy and LBJ supposed "liberals" ignored him). Since then we have had a line of war mongering, ineffective Presidents who have continually perpetuated a campaign of fear against the people of this nation. We need a new FDR.

Reagan was a horrid president who preferred to piss on the poor and blame homosexuals for HIV/AIDS and is soley responsible for the proliferation of that disease in this country. The "Cold War" would have ended with or without him telling them to tear down the wall. Not to mention the reason Saddam was in power and that Iran is so unstable now is due to him. And wasn't it under Reagan's watch that future Al-Qaeda members were being trained by the US? Oh yeah....what a great leader.

FDR was the greatest President ever.
He held our nation together fighting forces that were pure evil.
He created the New Deal, which helped millions. And it stands today helping the poor, and elderly.
God Bless FDR's soul.

Interesting question and and interesting opinion of your own...
In my opinion you would have to list Ronald Reagan as the most recent of the good Presidents. Not only did he end the Cold War he brought back as sense of decency to the office that had been taken away with Nixon. He restored respect to the Presidency and people LOVED him. Look at his re-election in 1984... it was a true landslide. His economic policies pulled us out of the recession of the late 70s and gave hope to the people.... Incidentally it was Reagan's economic policy that made Clinton's presidency work too... It was Reagan's "trickle down" economics that hit during the Clinton administration...which is a shame because George H. W. Bush probably would be on the "good President" list if he had the advantage of Reagan's economy (which got him elected in the first place)
Reagan was a strong Iconic figure for the country in a time when we needed that type of leadership... We had been in Vietnam forever, then Watergate, then Ford (enough said), then Carter and his Mr. Rogers sweaters... America needed Reagan....

The sitting president not only good,he is OUTSTANDING in one narrow, unique sense:
He has finally succeeded in driving the left-wing absolutely POSITIVELY BONKERS nationally and internationally.
If you reviewed the wide spectrum from so-called libertarian to the truly radical Castro loving lefty quadrupeds, you'd see the mental collapse is near. Nay even at the door. I mean it's hysteria time.
The mirth value alone is worth the time and trouble.
But this not a ringing endorsement of GWB's leadership on all counts, as the original commitment to limited government and humble foreign policy have been eclipsed by pressing realities.
I often wonder WHY anyone would ever want the job. IT IS A KILLER. The only one who was unscathed did so because he was in it for ministering to interns and never took the job description seriously. All others including this one look puffy and exhausted into year five tops.

Truman - He stopped the Russians cold in Germany when he dropped the atom bombs on Japan. The Russians had massive battle trained armies, excellent armour, and their generals did it by the numbers. Not like the crapshooters Montgomery and Patton. They probably would have taken Europe et al.? Who knows we could have all been singing the "International"! Truman was an honest, moral man...did they all die with him?

Reagan was good. Ike was good. Truman was good. They were probably the best from WWII and beyond.
The worst ones had to be Carter, Clinton, and Nixon.... closely followed by Johnson and Ford.... and I have little respect for George HW Bush after he caved to the UN and did not finish the war with Iraq, causing more grief in the future...

I knew all this crap was coming...
"Do not forget Pres. Clinton, who in his administration balanced the budget and had US in the "black" without a deficit."
Another liberal lie. There was ALWAYS a deficit. If you actually look at the numbers, the deficit grew each and every year that Clinton was in office. To think that we had no deficit, no debt, or that we were out of debt is ludicrous. Look at the actual facts people, before spouting off typical liberal rhetoric. The numbers are easily found.

obviously this is a matter of opinion, I think the last good president we had was Clinton, I see other people think it was Bush either one of them for that matter, but I am sorry I just don't see how anybody can argue with a better economy and better times over all, and about the only Republican in my lifetime that I think was a decent president was Reagan, as far as your new FDR, maybe we will get it, I think I just might vote for Hilary Clinton when she runs if she does, otherwise whoever runs I am voting Democratic

FDR wasn't that 'great' of a president. He was good, but not great.
It's obvious you are going to ignore the Bush's. What about Reagan? he ended the cold war, and his economic policies changed the country for the better through the clinton administration.
