Buy an English dictionary, and start studying..
Yes you can learn them within a month. One thing to remember is that two words may be spelled alike, but have two entirely different definitions. Or may sound alike , but are pronounced differently
For example " TWO " meaning the number 2, and "TOO " meaning " ALSO ".
Another example is " Hey " which you have already used. There is also the word " HAY " which is what horses eat.
The word "POST " is something that you just did with this question. It can also mean a large wood pole ( as in used for telephone lines )
Good luck. I'm sure you will do fine !

Merely memorizing words will not serve the purpose when you can't use them rightly in the right situations. So please get those 1000 words translated into your native language in meaning full sentences and come out with a story in both the languages.
The storyline will work as mnemonics. Understanding the words is better way than memorizing them simply. Wish you all the best.
Also get one of your friends to test your understanding of those words. Repetition is half the trick of internalizing things for ever.

When I was a student to enhance my vocabulary I would go through the dictionary. Write down all the words you do not yet know. Put them on flashcards or write them over and over with definitions.
In your case you want to focus on more common words. You could try reading something like an english newspaper. Every time you hit a word you don't know, write it down and look it up. Make these the words you put on flashcards.

yes, i htink a good idea would be to read a dictionary. but pesonally, i'd think it better if yuo read a book. if you don't get a word, look it up in the dictionary that way, along with improving your vocabulary, you also learn the correct usage of words and phrases...

if i'd want to joke with u i'd probably ask u to take a dictionary.
But if u want me to be serious then i'll say watch movies....they will make u learn english words faster than dictionary.
Talking to an english person may even teach u english word faster than that.
