no need to rush and cross over completely yet! here's what i do and it might work for u too:

try putting together outfits with different themes or looks. sprty, elegant, trashy, hip-hop, funky, ehtnic. whatever works for you.

its a lot more fun co-ordinating outfits and accessories while working on a certain kind of look.

personally i admire sarah jesscia parker's character in sex and the city. the way she used to mix and match her outfits was simply oomph.

so even when ur sportily dressed u can accessorise or dress up in a manner that u'll still end up looking stylish. this way u'll have the best of both the worlds :)

If u need to dress professionally for work or job interviews, u could always try wearing a very polished looking flat or even kitten heel shoes - no slides/mules, though! If it's just to hang with friends, most def be urself. If u want advice on how to dress more professionally, enlist the services of a personal shopper or any professional retail person. I've found that at the higher end stores such as Neiman and Saks, u get better fashion advice (though they will def try to sell u something). I wouldn't advise looking for fashion advice over the net as u need another person's expertise and opinion on what looks good on u and what won't.

You should develop your own style. Experiment, but wear what makes you look and feel good. Fashion shouldn't be an "identification card" requiring you to display a specific age. Your date of birth shouldn't control how you dress. Perhaps you're so comfortable with what you've always worn that you're not as open to new styles as your friends and you just need a wardrobe update. But it's also possible that changes in your life have caused you to view yourself differently and you no longer feel your clothes fit who you are now. In either case, try some new items and have fun. You'll soon resolve your question.

Wear whatever you want! And when you say should a 22yr old dress womanly, ask yourself, what is womanly!? There are different types of womanly, not just the type of womanly you see around you eg friends etc. Who knows, you might even get noticed for the right reasons if you're and individual and don't follow what everyone else is doing

Honestly....wear whats comfortable, nothin worse than wearing heels and wee tops if yer gonna feel uncomfortable and exposed! Fashion is an individual thing and everyone is un unique! If you feel you need a change, make it a gradual process...ye can go from sporty t shirts to vest tops which will still go with sports trousers...n going from trainers to sandals is not a dramatic change! Add a small neck chain rather than piercing yer ears babe..ye cant go back after thats done! Most importantly...be yourself n dont feel pressurised! Good luck! xxx

It all depends what you look like. Obviously if you are fit, trim and healthy then short skirts and hight heels with boob tubes and all that look very good, but not for a Vicki Pollard lookalike.

But yes I do think you should dress womanly, but that can still be jeans and t-shirt etc, depends on style. But not tracksuits or the like. They don't look good on anyone.

Why not stick to what your comfy in during the day (You can't shop properly unless your in comfy clothes) but then make a special effort to dress up womanly for dates / special occasions / parties/ etc. That way you'll make more of a big entrance at parties, compared to if you dressed up "womanly" all the time.

Hope that makes sense!

wear what you feel most comfortable in but when you go out on the town or to a posh party then wear a nice dress and heels then people will be more surprised!! But most of all do what you want to do and not what everyone else says.

22 year old should dress ho she feels comfotable and confident. If she doesn't like heels or feels uncomfortable, people can sence something is wrong and may not get the real person in those heels.Dress the way you want, but keep in mind some occasion do call for a nice outfit w/ nice shoes but not nessarily heels...there are nice flat shoes out there too.

I'm 23, i have girly friends but myself I'm a bit of a tom boy, my friends call me GI Jane, I'm in the ta and love rolling around in fields getting dirty, climbing walls etc. When I'm not doing anything like that i can be found in jeans or boarding trousers. I've had alot of pressure from previous friends to change, t spend an hour on a morning doing my hair etc. I can't be bothered! I like to make an effort to go out on a night out, but i do that for me not for my friends.
I now have fantastic friends who accept me for me, they don't mind me looking like a slob! I think you should dress how you like, try not to become a clone. Be yourself, people will like you more for being you.
They are probably insecure with who they are and need all the fancy clothes and make up, they probably want you to change because they are jealous of your confidence with who you are.
Hope that made sense!
