is not that they are the only ones who report that , but its the only culture/country that can make a spectacle out of it.

There's a belief that During WW2 the Germans were working on some top-secret research into new aviation. Basically, a very strong current passed through a coil of copper wire (or some such metal, I forget the specifics... Many scientists died during the experiments) makes the structure 'hover'. The copper glows red-hot, and the aircraft is capable of vertical take-off. When the Americans saw this after the war, what was left of these experiments were taken to Area 51 and the research was re-started. When someone spotted these and suggested Aliens, the American government were delighted, even to the point of getting high-ranking military personnel to claim to have seen UFO's. The coverup (if this is true!!) was perfect! Pressure was taken off the Government. Especially when they started abducting cattle... but that's another story, children ;-)

Not always Americans. Public services are good in USA; when people want to report something, there are tunnels to which they can submit their reports to, such as hotline / 800 numbers.
In the 3rd world countries, even if people come face to face with the aliens, they may not pass the story to others because the system does not exist. The stories may just fly as rumors and not worths verifying.

really? let me tell you a funny story. In a small village in Turkey, whole population of the village claimed to see a flying object and little things but they were not even aware of the famous alien image (big head black eyes etc.) so they defined these things as looking similar to a little thin white bear who looks similar to the bear that is the icon of a famous washing conditioner :)) that was so funny - i think a lot of ppl see things, i dont know if they are really seeing aliens but i believe that in collectivist and traditional societies (such as eastern Turkey), it is more difficult to say 'i saw an alien' - american ppl have to courage to say it bcs its a big state and there are a lot of ppl who share this experience and add the freedom of expresion and here is the reason why americans report more - so actually it is not only americans dont worry :))

The really fast/quick response to this question is that it isn't always Americans. I guess there are a lot of Americans as America is a BIG country with a very large population but I know there are many reports/sightings etc from other parts of the world too. Try doing some reasearch and you'll see. :)

When you were at school you would experiment on things like frogs fruit flys and pond life in science.
Possibly the Aliens are her doing their own pond life experiments.
Only a matter of time before they find the White House!

Anything would be more believable than the idea that George Bush was democratically elected by intelligent human life forms. Perhaps that was the aliens too?

Because everywhere else other people would call for the men in the white coats....
Seriously, I do believe in strange things happening, only the explanation is dependent on culture, so Irish people see saints, or faeries, African people see ancestors, Indian people see gods or boddhisatvas, and Americans see UFOs.

Probably because the aliens see America as the largest advanced civilization on the planet, so they come to us for samples first. Easy.

Americans seem to be much more gullible than other Western nations - likely a reflection of declining educational standards and the rise of religious fundamental lunacy.

I have personally never seen a UFO, but I have also never heard the statement that "only Americans" have seen a UFO.
