no , absolute democracy does not exist and minor democracy does not exist. what we have is nothing but the dream of democracy. it is against the nature of any person in power to have a true democracy . however , in the early days, i think there was democracy both in the Arab world " during Mohamed 'e era " and in the us during the civil war and before it.

democracy , is when one person is not given authority over press and other ppl . true democracy , is when ppl are free at any time to dethrone a king , president or a leader . and none of this is happen in the world now. i think it is all because of having a polarized world , and having one super power in the world. it does not work.

democracy and freedom comes in packaged with responsibility . what we have now is a fake democracy, it is nothing but a vent , you can say what you want , do what you want, but do you change anything , THE ANSWER IS NO .

There can be no such thing as true democracy, even in so-called democratic nations some people are still excluded from the vote. Basically every nation is ruled by powerful rich individuals, corporations, unions, and other vested interests. The best one can hope for is a system where governments can be answerable and that there are constitutional checks and balances between the executive, legislature and judiciary. By very definition the more populous a nation is the less democratic it can be so it is a matter of trust, often misplaced, in those elected to have a sense of duty, comprehension of their electors needs and feelings as well as an ability to think and act in the best interests of all, not just those paying into their election funds.

True democracies (each citizen has the right to vote on every issue) is quite rare. To my knowledge, it is only practiced in small communities, like for instance there are some towns in New England that still have town halls in which anyone in who is a resident can come and vote on any of the town's business.

Nope. Not when the countries that go around preaching democracy now inhibit their people's freedom of speech and opinion. When a leader can go against the will of the people and do what he wants regardless, or when he/she decieves and manipulates the people he has sworn to serve, then where is the democracy?

It is in MANY places, the US being the main one. It is just that those who aren't living under one can't comprehend what it truly is. There are many how are working in their countries (even Iran) to get democracy. It is the mulas who don't want it, for they would loose control. Read the book of Jude.

No perfect democracy exists that I know of and certainly not in the USA where Bush and his pals fiddled the last election, disenfranchising millions of mainly black voters.
