my boyfriend has just returned from his adi test part 3 and he is so upset as you only get 3 attempts at it then you have to wait 2 years to try again after the 3rd attempt. i would just like to know if anybody has any tips for him that could get him to succeed 2nd time round and has anybody ever passed first time? also does anybody know if the percentage is good for people succeeding within the 3 attempts. thanks

thanks for the reply polly. yes hes had all the professional training and stuff i think his nerves got the better of him with quite poor results 2/2. i told him to learn by his mistakes from the first time fail and he said that it was hesitancy that let him down the most. also yes it is approved not advanced lol my bf saw it after i wrote it. :-)

Ahhhh, there is no tips! He has to examine his own failings (using de-brief of examiner and his marking sheet) and self correct. Practice on real pupils! Getting dual controls fitted is cheap (£200+ depending on vehicle). Unless he has his pink licence, he cant charge, even for petrol. It may be worth getting th 6 month licence to get experience. Has he had profesional tutoring?

I passed part 1, 2 and 3 first time, I passed part three just over 1 year ago....still dont teach though.

I think the first time pass rate for part three is something like 25% pupils if I recall.

Its Approved Driving Instructor, not advanced. ;)
