Mine has to be Remy 'Gambit' LeBeau. He is sexy, charming and sweet. He's had a hard life, but has coped with that and the number of powers he has at his command. It was a shame I think that Bobby Drake took his place in the X-Men movies and that even with him there, they didn't follow up on the rumore that Gambit was going to be in the third film. I was very upset about that, I would have been happy even if he was on Magneto's side.

When I was like 8-years old, my favourite X-man was Gambit. But when I found out he was a sell out, I was like,"NOOO!!!" It was so sad.
Anyway, now my favourite is Kurt Wagner a.k.a Nightcrawler. He's so cool, and blue is 'so hot right now.' I love his accent. And I have to say that Alan Cumming nailed the role in X2. I was so chuffed. Now I can die happy...oh no, wait, I haven't bungee-jumped while playing the accordian yet.

Juggernaut. And Bobby "Iceman" Drake was one of the original X-Men and Gambit wasn't. That is why Iceman was in the movies and not gambit, he should have been older though. He left the X men to be a spider friend with Firestorm. Gambit was a cool character and would have been cool even as an extra, better choice than Jubilee at least. And rumors are not to be trusted. You heard the one about adult swim bringing back new episodes of Futurama? That one is bunk too, but it is circulating. Just an example not to believe everything you hear.

Firstly I think it's a shame so many people answered the question without explaining why 'x' was their favourite character and secondly I think it's a shame so many people predictably choose Wolverine. I just don't understand why so many people get excited about a character who effectively cannot die? How can you feel anxiety for someone who's indestructible no matter what injuries he receives. Let's have a bit more originality out there.
My favourite X-Man always was and always will be Colossus. I was already a huge fan of Joss Whedon, due to Buffy, before he brought him back from the dead and now I bow down at his feet in admiration after his work on "Astonishing X-Men".
However, I digress, Colossus is strong, very strong, and yet incredibly vulnerable. He is far more likely to be laid low by words than by fists and isn't that so much more like the rest of us. He also shy, gentle and unsure of himself when not in his metallic form.
All in all he just seems much more like a regular human being who you can identify with and at the end of the day isn't that what it's all about. Your favourite character is usually the one you identify with the most?

I prefer Logan/Wolverine and Rogue, both have had hard lives, and not being able to get to close to people is something they both share.
Logan is cool cause yes he has fast healing, heightened senses and 6 andimantium claws, but through it all he has good values and great honor if you get on his good side he would be a good allie.
Rogue is so strong, she lives a life without human contact and that can not be easy, and having powers and peoples thoughts pulled into you by the littlest of contact is nothing like we can imagine. She is a brave character to be able to live life this way.
And I don't like Remy I think he is stupid and annoying, he isn't that interesting and they we're going to put him in the 3rd movie but there wasn't enough for him in the movie, I am sure they will cast him for the next one.

I think it is profound that so many people chose Wolverine. He too is my favorite X-man, even if he runs with the New Avengers more these days.
I think one of the earlier posters (Wiggy) is wrong about Logan's appeal. For me it was because he was the first "anti-hero" i was exposed to. A man who is the best at what he does, enjoys what he does, and hates that he enjoys it is definitly someone you can cheer for and feel for. Even though he has massive regenerative abilities and is possibly immortal, doesn't mean he is one dimentional. After all he still feels pain, and you can imagine what it feels like as body parts regrow, and the fact that he knows he can pretty much survive anything makes you wonder what will happen when he finally comes across someone tougher and meaner then him (Also what made so many of the earlier Wolverine/ Sabertooth fights so good!)

Psylocke,
I started reading Xmen a few issues before the Morlock Massacre and it was like she had arrived at the same time i did to the Xmen and that she was british as i am was something else i associated with her. She was telepathic to start off with and managed to survive a sabretooth attack. She was just the coolest X woman. She was this upper class lady like character who was also a hard nosed warrior inside.

Wolverine because hes so human we can see our own actions as what we might do if we were cast into his becoming a mutant hero.he would much rather be himself with no mutant abilities, but when forced into action look out monster on the loose.temper dont we all and his since of devotion to his friends.theres nothing he would not do to help a friend in trouble.

In the computer games, it's Rogue...She flies and has great costumes - I never understood why they never got her flying in the movies!

Have a look out for Scott Summers/Logan Cyclops/Wolverine fan fic. It's hot! Just what you need to get you in a super-hero-hot mood!
