Why terrorism ? Can the wrold find a solution to this by peaceful means !?

This is a good question, of course the world can find a solution to terrorism by peaceful means. First, let us understand the roots of terrorism in its basis in Islam.

Read the 5 verses from the Qur'an below and imagine that you are a Muslim wondering what to do or imagine you are a cleric preparing a sermon jomeh khutba (Friday sermon) only with verses from the Qur'an and not using any hadith.

I have used the Munir Munshey English translations of the Qur'an. At the Muslim websites below, you can choose from 10 acceptable translations to eliminate any misunderstanding because of translation from the "pure" Arabic. Also, you can read the whole sura so you get the entire context.

Among Muslims there are those who:
a) jihad in the path of Allah with their wealth and their lives (including those who sit at home but give asylum to mujahidin 4:74)
b) those who sit at home (and do not give asylum to mujahidin or jihad in the path of Allah)
c) the handicapped (does not count as a category)

In the Quran 4:95 it says:
The two are not equal: those who sit at home (and do not join the fighting) _ unless they have a reason; they are handicapped _ and those who [jihad] strive hard in the path of Allah with their wealth and lives. Over those who sit at home, Allah has excelled and elevated to a higher honor those who strive hard with their wealth and lives.
Compared to those who sit at home, Allah will award a far greater reward to those who wage a struggle.

8:74 Those who believed, left their homes and waged a struggle for the cause of Allah as well as those who helped and protected them are really the true believers. There is forgiveness for them and a generous rewards.

49:15 The (true) believers are actually those who believe in Allah and His messenger and then do not waver (and do not entertain doubts). With their wealth and their lives, they strive for the sake of Allah. Such are truly the sincere ones

Killing (qitl) and jihad in the cause of Allah is the hallmark of true Muslim believers. It is not a matter of moderate or fanatic. It is the distinction of a true believer or a rebel.

4:76 Those who believe, do fight for the sake of Allah, while those who reject faith (Islam) fight for the cause of ‘taghut’ _ (all rebellious forces aligned against Allah). So, fight against the minions of Shaitan. Feeble indeed is the wily guile of Shaitan!

Does this include atomic weapons?

8:60 Acquire and prepare all the (military) strength you can muster, including the finest trained horses (and other military wares). With that, you would daunt and deter the enemies of Allah _ your enemies, and others besides them. You do not know them, but Allah (surely) knows them. Anything you spend in the path of Allah will be returned to you in full. You will not be wronged (at all).

One more verse to answer your second question. You want to know, "do they just get off on murder, power and complete bedlam"?

2:216 Warfare (for the sake of Allah) has been ordained for you, though it is not something you like. It is possible that the thing you detest might just (turn out to) be good for you. It is possible that the thing you like (the most) might in reality be bad for you. Allah knows (all) while you know nothing (at all)!

I hope that these 6 verses from the Qur'an can give you and others insight into the mind of a Muslim believer and the peaceful religion of Islam. Perhaps you may read the entire sura from which they were extracted so you can get the entire context of the verses.

Oh, one last thing. You mentioned the "leaders of the terrorist organizations". Do they fight? Yes, sometimes they do, they fight and they get shot at and sometimes they die and become shahids (martyrs). All Muslims look forward to the day when the mahdi (guided one) comes and on to qiyahmah (resurrection day) to be a shahid is a great honor.

Personally, I agree with the words of Robbie Burns when it comes to killing in the name of God.

Phares states, "It [taqiyah] is done to prevent the new converts from seeing the real face of Islam; at least until their faith or mental conditioning is strong enough to make them turn against their own country and people."

Not all Muslims blow up things, yet "jihad in the cause of Allah" "jihad fee sybil Allah" is "fard ayn" "compulsory duty" for all Muslims. Why? There are rules from the Quran for combattive jihad. Read this:

What does the tape from Gadahn mean? Does anyone realize that Muslims are supposed to "dawa" "invite others to Islam" before jihad?

According to al-Mawardi an 11th Century Shafi'i jurist:

The mushrikun [infidels] of Dar al-Harb (the arena of battle) are of two types: First, those whom the call of Islam has reached, but they have refused it and have taken up arms.… Second, those whom the invitation to Islam has not reached, although such persons are few nowadays since Allah has made manifest the call of his Messenger…it is forbidden to…begin an attack before explaining the invitation to Islam to them, informing them of the miracles of the Prophet and making plain the proofs so as to encourage acceptance on their part; if they still refuse to accept after this, war is waged against them and they are treated as those whom the call has reached…

In the Hidayah, vol. II. p. 140 (Hanafi school):
It is not lawful to make war upon any people who have never before been called to the faith, without previously requiring them to embrace it, because the Prophet so instructed his commanders, directing them to call the infidels to the faith, and also because the people will hence perceive that they are attacked for the sake of religion, and not for the sake of taking their property, or making slaves of their children, and on this consideration it is possible that they may be induced to agree to the call, in order to save themselves from the troubles of war… If the infidels, upon receiving the call, neither consent to it nor agree to pay capitation tax, it is then incumbent on the Muslims to call upon God for assistance, and to make war upon them, because God is the assistant of those who serve Him, and the destroyer of His enemies, the infidels, and it is necessary to implore His aid upon every occasion; the Prophet, moreover, commands us so to do."

The terrorists are committed to the destruction of the Western World. They believe that if they wipe us out that "Allah" will replace the civilization that has been destroyed with a better one, which is of course ridiculous. Osama Bin Laden has said that it is OK for them to kill American men, women, and CHILDREN. Anyone that approves of CHILD MURDER is not someone that should be negotiated with. They also want to take over parts of southern Spain because centuries ago it used to be under Muslim control. These people are FANATICS - negotiating a peaceful solution with people that are willing to kill children (and HAVE) is at the very best unwise and at the worst INSANE. They need to be crushed by whatever means necessary so that they know for all time that "Allah" is NOT on their side. It would be great if a peaceful solution could be found, but we are dealing with people that think it is OK to kill people because they aren't Muslims - you know... any one that isn't one of them... us!!! They have declared war on us - they should have asked the Japanese and the Germans about the wisdom of doing that as that sure didn't work out so well for them, did it?

definitely the solution rests on peaceful means.Terrorism can mainly be catagorised into two (may be more according one's opinion) 1.Social terrorism, 2.Political terrorism. Social terrorism is the cause of lust,desire, jealousy or eagerness etc etc.(eg Rapes,Robberies). Political terrorism is the cause of injustice,inequality,Superiority,Power hunger,exploitation.

Solution is to establish an international commission without the influence of any country to probe unbiasly into the origination of terrorism and seek remedy from morale proposals of every nation irrespective of poor,developing or developed.

I was surprised when Yasir Arafat came to talk about peace. I thought that he was a terrorist at the time.

But Osama Bin Laden is a totally ruthless terrorist. I could not ever forgive him for the WTC bombing and other terrorist attacks that he has done around the world outside of his own country. You see, that is the point... he brings his war outside of his own home.

Do you think he would come to talk peace? I seriously doubt it. Let's invite him to the U.N. Summit talks and see what happens.

Refer Nostradamus : Today's situation has developed due to two ambigous statements of Prophet Mohammad. 1. There would be 'Quamat' (doomsday) after 14th Century Hizri (present period). He probably warned the Muslims to avoid that situation; they took as call to bring doomsday. 2. All Non-Muslims are 'Quafirs (Anti-God); they shall be done away with. He probably meant that we should not tolerate those who not believe in God. Terrorists take it as advise to kill all Non-Muslims.

It would sure be worth a try, but I believe that we are dealing with really evil people that just want to destroy the U.S. at any cost. Another thing, these fighters get paid money and it's the only job that some of them know. I don't think they want to get "laid off."

No, humans are inherently violent. We will always attempt to solve our differences with armies and arms. It's in our genetic code.

Face it! Primates are competitive and violent. Period.
