One of our neighbours has taken to verbally attacking everyone else whenever we leave the house, inlcuding my 5 year old son. The police wont do anything unless she actually attacks someone, god forbid its my baby! I am at my wits end any advise please?

To the person who said we must have done something to her.. that is not true and I must say something about that! The worst we may have done is ask her to turn her music down at 1.30am and not to have sex in her garden in front of the children. She is a complete nutter and no there was no provocation

Here in the United States, us redneck, cowboy, backwards law men call what you described "Simple Assault" which is what is known in the U.S. as a "crime." In our typical American, John Wayne manner, we cops would then make an "incident report" and advise that you take out a "warrant" at something we call "Magistrate Court." If circumstances allowed, we would very likely "arrest" the "suspect" and take him to a place of confinement we call a "jail."

Two sides to every story, I would like to know her version of events. Why is she verbally abusing you? What have you done? something must have started this. I can't imagine anyone just abusing others for no reason? Maybe she is antisocial because she feels it's unfair the way people in the street treat her everyone is human and have feelings to. what have you people done to instigate this? THAT'S THE QUESTION. It's sad for your son to have to experience this. However it's not uncommon for long time friends to fall out over kids. In-fact wars are caused by children who's parents refuse to believe there children could be telling lies! I just read your comment, You must get evidence if you say this is true but just saying it is not enough as for sex in the garden well it's a criminal offence to commit a sexual act in public so why she can't be arrested for this is beyond my comprehension. But you could be just saying this People say some unthinkable things it's called gossip.

Sorry to have to tell you this, but we had a problem very similar. It got to the point where we were frightened to leave the house and when we did go out, frightened to go home again! We had to move eventually, but that's just not right. Do the whole diary thing, and get your other neightbours too as well. The best evidence is video footage. Keep pestering the police/your MP until something is done. Why is this person attacking everyone - do they have problems of their own? Perhaps Social Services are already involved and could be brought in on your problems too. Bearing this in mind, don't rise to it, or bully them in return. Just do your utmost to ignore it, and don't fight back.

Get a video recording of them verbally abusing and acting in a threatening manner and show it to the police, let them know that if this continues you will take matters into your own hands. I considered it an assault on my enjoyment of my home and family and would do ANYTHING to ensure no harm was to come to them. I considered a pre emptive strike my only defence if the police could not stop the anti social behaviour.
It worked for me, the neighbour soon stopped acting up after the police informed them that they would not be able to do anything about me until after they themselves had been attacked..
If your neighbour scares you, scare them back more... Or find a big scary friend that will do it for you...

There is such a thing as "nuisance" for which you can go to court and get an injunction but this is expensive an may not be what you need here. If she threatening to injure people then it is threatening behaviour and is a criminal offence. My suggestion would be to ask for an interview with the Inspector at your local police station and explain the problem to him or her and possibly take a couple of neighbours with you. If you do this try to get some facts together, times dates words etc in writing of course then be calm but firm about it all.

Morals have corroded, self-discipline and rules mean no longer something and all communicate, all human beings is out for themselves, greed landlords, backwards society celebrating uselessness particularly of stressful artwork and brillance. Nanny state that does each and everything and promotes failure and not working. I choose u.s., in case you do no longer artwork you get no longer something. I had 2 neighbours on the two factor at different cases. they gained't positioned them contained in the prosperous areas however the common ones. called the police and colleges on their childrens and not something. the united kingdom has a deep seeded social subjects and backward values. What the politicans would desire to do is reform the advantages device, create jobs, make failing college puzzling and instilling a feeling of self-discipline and order. success and stressful artwork is inspired and the opposite demeaned and despised. nationwide provider would desire to be an option. The nanny state is merely too tender, has the incorrect motivations and is im denial. subculture is rotten, device is broken and society and families are clueless.

What goes around... comes around. Give it back it back to her and have the whole neighborhood respond the same way. And make sure you son doesn't leave the house without you.
Or you could just look at her and ask if she realizes just how silly and immature she's acting.
Honestly, do what some of the others have suggested and document day, dates and times, she does this and what was said. Have your neighbors to it too, then all of you converge on the police department at once and tell them to do something or ask to file harassment charges against the woman.

I think this lady has a mental health problem. Your police should get involved plus the council social services. Dont wait till she really hurts someone, because she will end up in court and someone else will suffer. If she is being racially abusive the Police have to act. Its the law.

the police are so slow to act on things like this we suffered from bad neighbours and no u don't have to do a thing to start them off they jus are psycho we had to move in the end as no one will help councils don't wanna move them as they will jus be a problem else where and the police seem top have no powers at all good luck i do know how hard this situation is i hope u get it sorted some how

Make a diary of events over week, add photos, video evidence etc. The police will do something about evidenced verbal abuse as its a crime, they will not wait for violence, if they believe its a threat they will act.
With evidence you could also ask them to investigate with regards to an ASBO prosecution.
