I would suggest to make agreement to talk about the past ... and when its done its to be forgotten about to move on. Talk about it, say your sincere apologies. As well find ways to communicate now. There is no point in screaming, calling each other names and saying things you will regret.. in the future agree to talk it out and if one is to upset.. to respect the right to delay the conversation until both parties are calm and collected.
Hugs from a Loving Mom to a Brilliant, as well as beautiful 8 year old Jared and Our Angel, Zachary (taken to soon but who will always remain in our heart) ~ Mel

Boy aren't u a glutten for punishment. You would think you would have learned from your past experiences with these so called friends.
I would say....keep the new friends you've made and make the best of it with them. The old friends should remain on the back burner never to be kindled again. You can talk, communicate with them but don't add fuel to make them think you are longing to rekindle things. As you know and have experienced the old friendships were explosive and not worth it for your mental health and well being!

That is part of the learning process and of growing up. Give both yourself a chance,, you can continue to learn from each other. Mutual trust and respect is much needed for a friendship to last much more to be more than friends.

Its nice to know that you all are back to talking terms... the best way is to avoid arguments at all costs... If they want to start something and you know that you are wrong, just admit to it. if you are right and they are insistant on the fact that you are wrong, let them jsut keep barking like useless female dogs. All you have to do is keep quiet. At least you know that you are the winner inside... Ssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! My philosophy seem to work pretty well... And when they find out the actual truth, you can always turn around and tell them, "You SEE??? I TOLD YOU!!" and laugh at them.

Yea, they will. It won't be long before the old dysfunction interaction begins again. Try to enjoy the reintroduction phase where everyone is on their best behavior but don't get to close or it will be agony again.
Sorry, that is just the way it is.

Why do you think the problems you had before will have now disappeared? Probably they won't and again you'll have the same fights and be back in the same situation.
Although sometimes you love someone, it isn't always possible to be with that someone.

Learn from your mistakes and try not to repeat them. Address minor issues as they occur and don't allow them to simmer and boil over.
