The meaning of selfless love can be best understood by looking at the example of the love of a mother towards the child. In almost all relations, there is an element of give and take but generally not so in the love of a mother towards the offspring. It is universally present in all species. In every species, the nursing mother jealously and aggressively protect the offspring. In return for what? The child is just the extension of the mother. Although the umbilical cord is cut asunder, the sentimental attachment remains in tact. In homo sapiens, the children remain within the fold of the parental care and love for more period than in any other species. In the eastern societies, the bond is life long, unlike in the western societies, where the child after a certain period, leave the home and start fending for himself.

This ideal of selfless love has to be achieved in all our relations. How to achieve that? For this, you need to cultivate non-attachment. As long as there is attachment, there is expectation and it becomes tainted. Non-attachment obviates partiality and selfishness.

Unconditional love is a feeling of love towards someone despite their actions or beliefs. It's comparable to true love, though this term is more often used to describe love between family members or close friends. Some also use unconditional love to describe the love one feels towards God or another diety.

Unconditional Love means excluding oneself and ones personal interests with regards to another person and considering only the personal physical, mental and emotional welfare of that other person when taking action regardless of how the action taken affects others including oneself. In short, sacrificing ones personal condition for the benefit of someone we love, and continue to love despite how that person's actions may detrimentally affect your own welfare.

unconditional love is love no matter what happens.God's love is unconditional and the love a parent (most parents) feels for their child is unconditional. No matter what they do, fib about, break, or anything else that happens,a mother and father will always love that child.I do believe this is probably the only unconditional love.

Its a treasure to be cherished, a love that asks NO questions, always trusting and never doubting anything, standing through the thick and thin, giving all without expecting anything, and being with you more in trying times than happier times, accepting with all your pluses and minuses..hope u agree..

Be you. Think of you. There should be no conditions that your partner can set for you. Live and let live. Everybody is set free to their own decisions and are respected for them. As Mr.Crowley says, "Do as thou wilt shall be whole of law" and do not interfere with any other's will. Such as I want to do something, therefore, my partner respects that, allowing me to do so. If not, she tells me why should prefer me not to. Though, If I still have that will to do it, then she lets me do it. That is un-conditional love. It is a way of life that lets you live your life the way you want to and no one can stop you because to love is also to respect. Democracy is a form of love.

love refers not only to a word.so just stop trying to learn it in words.it is a feeling which cannot be compared with anything in the whole universe.
so where love could be called the bondage of two people not only in form of lovers, but also siblings, friends, and more over love for humanity.....
and thus "unconditional love" could be called loving people, not with a thought of tieing them in a bond but just loving them and spreading the meaning of love all over the world.....
and that is love in its true sense.......

It is a misonomer. Everything in life is a compromise and everything we do in return for some material or immaterial return. If the other person loves you it is because he or she seeks comfort or solace or security by being youe mate.
