I anticipate a 100% likelihood of dying. However, faced with that prospect, I do not intend to end my life prematurely!

If you enter into a marriage anticipating that it may fail, it probably will. Marriage is more than just a contract. It is a two way relationship based on love and trust, that, given time, will grow and benefit the couple.

Airplanes are still the safest form of transport. 60%, it is more like 1% or less.

So if we get married, and we get divorced, what does it matter? We've been together 9 years. Marriage will make not one scrap of difference to the relationship we have now except I will get to use his name with pride.

Marriage is the work of the Devil. All marriage should be outlawed. If you want to commit, then you should be able to sign a finite committment and cohabitation contract that outlines each party's duties and expectations from the union. Contract renewal after expiration should be optional.
