If the child support is garnished, a child support modification order needs to be applied with the court via the child support office for the amount to be changed. Do not change the payment no matter what before the hearing if it is tacked onto the child support otherwise the missing money would be considered arrears and interest would be tacked on to it along with your tax refund being intercepted by the courts if high enough. However, if it has been a couple of years since the last child support increase, most likely the amount will not drop the entire $100 difference in child care. The process can be done without an attorney present.

look at the child support section of your divorce decree. that's what you are required to pay no more,no less. it will state everything you are responsible for. if your ex wants to change that, she'll have to go back to court. I went thru this same thing in Illinois, but the divorce papers are the final word. dont assume,NOTHING CHANGES unless the court order's it.

I'd contact a great attorney experienced in these matters. You may or may not have to continue paying the same amt - at least consult and find out.
